Midas

I recently visited Midas for an engine oil change, but unfortunately my experience has been very disappointing. After the service, I started facing multiple issues with my car, the coolant emptied twice and the check engine light came on. They also didn’t place the mileage reminder sticker on the windshield or note the next oil-change mileage, which felt unprofessional. I’ve previously had better experiences at another Midas location, but this branch did not meet expectations. The staff were polite while talking, but overall the service quality was poor and left me dissatisfied. I hope they improve their attention to detail and service standards in the future.

I used the Moraine shop. I hoped I only needed an exhaust manifold gasket replaced on the passenger side of my 1996 Chevy. I was quoted on the phone for both sides and new bolts for $496. I was told I had to go in the day before to pay for the parts. Then I went in, in person to pay for the parts and I was told I didn't need to prepay. Then the manager then jacked the price up to $640 for both side. He then said "if it's only the right side leaking, we can do just the right and save you some money." I agreed. They called me and said it was ready for pick up and offered to do $4800 in suspension work. I got there and they said "we're not sure but we think the manifold is warped or cracked (which I believe them). The gasket didn't fix the problem. You owe $638.96." I asked, "did you replace both sides?" They said no..... That's what I was quoted, the "second time", for both sides. I do agree, they did replace 1 side but I figured it would be 1/2 the total amount, quoted for both sides. I do not recommend going to Midas. I will not do any further business there.
