As I was preparing to refer Manning Mechanial to a friend I realized that I never wrote my own review of my experience with this company. As luck would have it, my boiler died on a Friday on the coldest day of the year. I called my cousin who was a satisfied customer his referral was glowing. I made the call, the person on the other end was pleasant and professional, this 1st point of contact was encouraging, within a few hours a tech was at my door. This young man was extremely thorough and confirmed my worst fear I needed a new boiler 😢. Panic instantly began as this expense was NOT in the budget, not only did Manning Mechanical assist with financing (the process was quick and painless). Unfortunately, my boiler had to be ordered and I was Friday. I would have to endure a weekend with no heat (they offered to provide heaters, I declined-a past house fire made me leary of space heaters) The same day my old boiler was removed, Monday my shiny new boiler was installed. They also upgraded my electrical box to accommodate the voltage that my new boiler would bring, also to my surprise they also serviced my hot water tank (no charge) they also replaced some out of code plumbing and vents, when the installed was finished I was given a step by step walk around of the boiler, explaining exactly what I need to do to keep my boiler working in tip top conditions. Overall this was an amazing experience from a local black owned business. If that wasn't enough few days after the install, I received a call from Manning making sure that everything was working properly. I have referred Manning to everyone I can. I was so impressed with my new boiler I took photos posted to social media and shared them with my co-workers and friends. Almost a year later we're all good over here. Thank you Manning Mechanical...You Rock !!!!!

I had a furnace and an AC unit installed in 2019. Earlier in 2025, I called to have my humidifier serviced; one tech came out and said my humidifier was not connected to the thermostat. I placed a second, third, and fourth service call, stating that a serviceperson would be coming out. No one showed up. On Saturday, January 24, 2026, my furnace went out, the coldest day ever. I called early Saturday, January 24, and it is now Monday, but I still haven't heard back from them. This company is willing to give estimates for installation; however, don't expect any warranty follow-up appointments. My mom referred this company to me, and I will not refer Manning Mech to anyone. I saw a recent review that they only take your money and run. This is so true. I had two friends and one family member who recently needed a new furnace. I gave them the information about the company that replaced my humidifier. They deserve no stars!!!
I couldn’t be happier with the service from Manning Mechanical! They installed my new boiler on January 23 and were friendly, knowledgeable, and extremely professional from start to finish. They explained exactly how the new system works and gave me practical tips to help maintain it properly. It’s clear they care about their customers and the quality of their work. I highly recommend them!
I hired this company to service a multi-unit rental property. The technician was scheduled to address an issue in the upper unit but instead completed work only in the lower unit and did not resolve the original concern. He advised that I might need to hire another HVAC company to remove an item from the boiler because their team did not have the manpower for that task, and no recommendations were offered. When I explained that I did not have another company I trusted, he stated that a senior-level staff member would contact me to determine next steps. That follow-up never occurred. Additionally, I did not receive a receipt for the work performed, and no communication was provided regarding the status or resolution of the initial issue. I do want to note that the receptionist is very professional and attentive to customer concerns and does her best to assist within her capacity. However, the overall service experience did not result in a resolution to the issue the technician was originally called for.
Very professional! Outstanding team from Carlin Manning and his crew! Quality service and professional support install. I have used them for all my steam boiler issues in the past, they were able to solve issues other contractors or even DTE couldn’t solve. Used them to install new steam boiler at sisters house and the removal, install and cleanup was done professionally!
