I have NO problem with the medical care I have received from Oak Street. The staff and NPs are great, but I do have a problem with the service I receive concerning my insurance. My United Health care coverage requires I have proof of my chronic condition (diabetes) and sent a form to Oak Street to verify that condition. The form either never arrived or was lost and my insurance will be cancelled by the end of February if that proof of condition is not provided. I contacted Oak Street on the 7th of February to get this situation fixed. I was told someone would get back with me. No one did. I continued to attempt resolution and even told the person I spoke with that Oak Street could go to the United Health Care provider portal and enter the information required. I was told she didn't have access to the provider portal and that she would have someone get back with me. No one did. I then had a medical issue and needed an appointment. No appts. were available until Tuesday, February 24th (6 days away). I was told they would try to get me in sooner as my condition needed appt. within 24 hours. I was told someone would get back with me. No one did. I'm very disappointed with the non response and no resolution to both these issues.
I encouraged my Mother to go to Oak St. Health. Their advertisement said they were good for elderly people. My mother called Oak Street Health three days in a row last week about a medication for pain. I called 4 times last week. They told me they sent my message as URGENT to her care team and some one would return my call within 24 hours. That didn't happen last Tuesday, Wednesday or on Thursday when I was assured that I would be contacted on Friday. That did not happen. So I called again today only to be told again that someone would return my call from her care team. I figured out why they stopped the medication. However they have never called my mother to tell her why they stopped her pain medication or what they would replace it with. Someone has totally dropped the ball in regard to my mothers care. I would love to speak to an administrator or who ever is supposed to be in charge. At this point I am not holding my breath and wonder if anyone will EVER call. In the mean time my 86 year old mother has NOTHING for her pain. I pray they aren't treating other vulnerable people the same way. I am listed on my mother's account as being able to access her medical records and speak on her behalf. What is going on Oak Street health.? 2/17/2026

At first I thought they were awesome and great but even though they did some things it was like the follow through got lost. It's been over a year and I still haven't gotten the true help I need. I guess regular meds and if you need a bandaid or you have a temp come here. Don't expect much else after because it takes to long and you have to be the one to keep checking. If you need a ride to then and back they offer that. That's why the other star. Good luck.
It started off good. Then came several issues. A change of primary at oak street. Nothing being done. Is not the place to be for care. I need someone to listen. From being spiteful to not pursuing issues I’ve already had that have come back. I do not recommend them! My new primary starts next month
Great place for anyone on Medicare. Especially for those over 50 or younger if on disability. I've been going there for many many years. My favorite provider is April Hickman. A nurse practioner. Very thorough.
