Visited the Milliken State Park Lighthouse and absolutely loved the serene vibe! The location is stunning, with the Detroit River as a perfect backdrop, ships gently passing by, and a peaceful waterfront atmosphere. It’s a photographer’s dream — the lighthouse, river, and skyline create such a beautiful frame. I stayed back for the sunset, and it was magical watching the sky transform into shades of orange and pink over the water. A perfect spot for a relaxing walk, soaking in the views, or just sitting back and enjoying nature right in the heart of the city.
All photos are taken and distributed by Be Photographed. Milliken State Park and Lighthouse is such a beautiful spot for engagement and proposal photography. I can’t take credit for choosing it, but I’m so glad Nathan did — it turned out to be the perfect location. When I take photos here, the views are incredible: Windsor, Canada in one direction and the Detroit Renaissance Center in the other. It creates a stunning skyline backdrop that’s hard to beat. The lighthouse itself is very photogenic, and even though the park is small, it’s full of character — from the boats and fishing areas to the well-kept pathways and greenery. Paid parking right across the street makes it super convenient for couples and guests. Milliken State Park is one of my favorite hidden gems for proposals and engagement photos in Detroit.

Always love this riverfront since I been visiting Detroit. I came here to honor my mother who passed away in May from cancer. She loved the riverfront when we went together in 2015.
It was very small. So small that we drove past it. We missed the sign for it because the flowers and plants had grown up in front of it so you barely seenit. The parking area was tiny also. Was it worth the trip just to see that, no. But we did stop. Gave the dog a little walking time.
The lighthouse was very serene. Also, if you'd like to take a dip, there is a metal ladder on the retaining wall to climb back up after jumping over the railing!
