Gas Works Park is such a unique and scenic spot in Seattle. The old industrial structures give it a cool, edgy vibe, but the open grassy hill and waterfront views make it feel relaxing at the same time. The view of the Seattle skyline across Lake Union is beautiful — especially around sunset. It’s a great place to picnic, fly a kite, or just sit and enjoy the view. Even on a gray day, the atmosphere feels peaceful and refreshing. Definitely one of those places that shows off Seattle’s mix of urban and nature perfectly
Nice park that is open and has great views of the city line. Saw lots of folks exercising and walking with animals or kiddos so a very chill and popular place to check out. Meets up to the water and has great placement if you want to watch the boats go by. I went to see the abandoned works and they are a nice 'view from a distance' visit for the larger works and you can get hands on with some of the smaller machinery as well. If you want a place to see a little history and slow things down I recommend this spot.

Gas Works Park was my most favorite place while visiting the Seattle area. it’s absolutely beautiful! The park felt very safe, and the atmosphere was perfect. I loved sitting down on the hill, enjoying the weather, and watching the kids and dogs play around. Most importantly, it has a great, iconic view of the Seattle downtown skyline. It’s an awesome spot for photos and enjoying a peaceful, relaxing afternoon. Highly recommended!
Amazing city views and nice open spaces for kids. Plenty of space to have a picnic, take pictures, or unwind with a more than 180 degree city view. It can be a little muddy when wet but there are paved walkways to the hill top where you get a commanding view of the Seattle skyline. The juxtaposition of the old gas works equipment and the green grass offers an opportunity for creative photo-takers. Google Maps took us to a dead end road that is NOT the only parking place. About a half block away is a nice normal parking lot.
This park is a perfect blend of industrial history and natural beauty. The old gas plant structures make for captivating, nice photo backdrops, especially at sunset. The open lawns are great for picnics, flying kites, or just lounging with a view of Lake Union and the Seattle skyline. If you're looking for a walk with character or a unique stop in the city, this place is an awesome spot 👌
