!!!!PLEASE READ THIS!!!!!! Please do not give your money to this place. The enclosures aren’t very large, animals are out sometimes so are they in cages the rest of the time? There’s is a wonderful Zoofari in Kaufman. It’s outside of east Dallas. It cost me about $50/person to go (all adults and including animal feed which is optional). PLEASE GO HERE. The money will be much better spent and enjoyed. I’ll include pictures of my experience so you guys can see. I went on a wagon at 11am which came with free food for the wagon. Hardly anyone was there. There was nothing stopping me from entering with my own car after the fact if I wanted to. There is a petting zoo. There is a giraffe and birds you can feed as well. This is a wonderful experience for all ages. DO NOT GO TO THE DALLAS ZOO.
We had an amazing time at the Dallas Zoo! The place is absolutely beautiful, super natural, and perfect for kids to explore and enjoy. There is so much to see and do – every step feels like a little adventure. The walking paths are peaceful, surrounded by greenery and animals in wide, natural-looking habitats. My kids had so much fun walking around, discovering different animals, and enjoying the fresh air. It’s a great place for families to connect, learn, and create beautiful memories together. Everything is well organized, clean, and very family-friendly. Highly recommend Dallas Zoo for a fun, relaxing, and educational day out with kids. Definitely worth visiting again!

Nice walkable zoo. It was disappointing that several animals were not in their habitats, nearly all of the restaurants and booths were closed, and there were a handful of areas under construction. Some of which were completely closed off. Was impressed with the elephant area though. It’s a very large area with an overlook where staff are on standby to share facts and details about the elephants. I learned several unique facts. Suggest visiting during a busier time when more things are open.
Visited on a weekend right when they opened for the day. Parking was a bit more expensive than I would’ve liked, but there was plenty of available space, so it made the process easy. The entire place was nicely organized with lots of room to walk around, which helped keep things comfortable even as more people arrived. The animal exhibits were clean and very well kept. I was able to see most of the animals up close, except for the alligator exhibit, which was closed during my visit. The butterfly house was definitely a highlight. It was beautiful, peaceful, and worth spending extra time in. Food at the restaurants was better than expected, with good variety and fast service. I recommend going early to avoid larger crowds, and if possible, visit during cooler weather since there isn’t much shaded space throughout the park. Overall, a great experience!
My visit to Dallas Zoo was a delight from start to finish. The admission prices are refreshingly reasonable, and parking was easy, plentiful, and hassle-free. The layout of the zoo is superb. You can flow from exhibit to exhibit naturally, making the entire experience feel effortless and enjoyable. We saw a fantastic variety of animals, from the majestic giraffes to playful otters and charming penguins, and every exhibit felt thoughtful and well curated. The staff sprinkled educational moments throughout the visit, and their passion, knowledge, and engagement elevated the experience for adults and kids alike. In total, our group spent about three hours walking through the entire zoo. That felt just right; long enough to see everything, but not so long that it became tiring. The food and drink options were solid (and well-priced), offering a good range of choices to recharge mid-visit. This zoo is absolutely family friendly, but it’s also a wonderful choice for a relaxing day out with friends. Whether you’re looking to combine fun, education, and a little nature escape, Dallas Zoo delivers. Highly recommend! We’ll definitely return next time we’re in Dallas!
