We always stay at Hilton owned hotels but this one wasn’t managed well at all. Even with Hilton honors we had a nonrefundable rate, which was fine with me. We were delayed due to weather and called ahead to let them know we would be checking in the next day and understood that the first not would be refunded. I thought we called the front desk but it was a service call center (spoke to Felicia) that told us they would let the front desk know. When we arrived the front desk had us as a no show and they couldn’t figure out what to do. After about an hour of trying to check us in we finally got our room, but had to come back the next day to re run the details. I finished up my business early and so we checked out Friday. I understand the room was booked non refundable, but after all the issues we had it would’ve been nice to be refunded for the 3 days we wouldn’t be there. Especially since there were people next to us who wanted a room but were told they were booked for the weekend. Our card was charged twice and we’ve been trying to get in contact to ensure a refund. Also the beds were uncomfortable Overall would never stay at this or another Homewood again. We always stay at Hamptons which are owned by Hilton as well, but so much easier to book with.
First time here for a quick overnight on our way between PA & IL for Thanksgiving, a route I've traveled for 25 years. Loved the spaciousness of the suite, especially since we had our dog with us. The staff we met were all very friendly & helpful. Valet parking was a nice option at a reasonable price. I'd definitely stay again & allow more time to explore the area. Looks like there's a lot to offer.

It was super convenient being connected to the hotel, but the breakfast was super disappointing. No waffles, no sausage, no scrambled eggs (until Sunday). Saturday the fresh fruit was unripe, they had shredded pork tacos Saturday morning and shredded tacos Sunday morning. We were here for a cheer comp and so were many other guests and the amount of disappointment when kids and parents realized there was no waffles, bacon/sausage or scrambled egg (until Sunday). The orange juice tasted spoiled and looked like the container had not been cleaned out in weeks, the apple juice looked off and most the kids that went to get some if it joked that it was jello. When we asked the manager if they would have scrambled eggs or bacon on Sunday he said that they will never do bacon or sausage, sometimes they do scrambled eggs but that they always do shredded pork and shredded chicken tacos. The pictures I took actually make it look decent but I assure you it was more disappointing than what the pics show. The room looked great upon first look and housekeeping does a GREAT job at fluffing everything and making it just right but after being there we noticed that the couch had a chair and everything was more cardboard like instead of actually coushin. The in room kitchen was super beneficial and all the appliances worked as they were built to do. I would try Hilton Garden Inn next year if we are at this comp next year as they do more of the hot breakfast we are looking for but it's at an additional cost.
We were in town for a youth wrestling tournament in the Glass City Center and check out at Homewood Suites Toledo was not until NOON. In the morning we took our luggage to the car, but very carefully left our coats and some other small items AND our food in the fridge (in our very nice YETI storage coolers) so we could make one last stop before check out. At 11:50 my husband ran up the the room to find it open, and housekeeping inside, with our items buried in trash and linen carts. The person there spoke no English. We we able to dumpster dive and get some of the coats but some items were lost, including a child's nice winter vest. This is unacceptable and we will not be staying there again.
Stayed for New Year Eve. App check in was quick but still had to check in and get key cards at the front desk, so whats the use of the app? I stayed In room 1136 and wow the view was great overlooking the river and bright colored bridges, sorry not from the area so don't know if im looking towards the south or west but you can check out the pics. At the lobby restaurant Assembly, I Had two Makers Old Fashioned, was great and perfectly made, had the oysters and unfortunately they tasted watered down, never leave oysters in water before shuckling them. Keep them dry and refrigerated.
