Another great weekend in Detroit, thanks in no small part to our friends at El Moore Lodge (and some absolutely stellar weather)! Perfect location - you can get to everything easily. Around the corner from award winning plays at Detroit Public Theatre and delicious food at Selden Standard and Mad Nice; walking distance to the world class Detroit Institute of Arts; an easy bike ride to Eastern Market, the Dequindre Cut and the Riverwalk; and a quick ride on the Q-Line gets you downtown for sporting events and shows. The beautiful and historic building features lovely gardens and grounds and incorporates sustainability and elements from the El Moore’s past. The rooms are comfortable and artistically designed. Michel is a helpful and knowledgeable concierge and manager, responding quickly to requests and providing valuable info and insight about Detroit and the neighborhood. I so appreciate his delightful personality as well as the rest of the awesome staff!
El Moore was a wonderful accommodation for our anniversary. The staff was kind and helpful, the ground and building/rooms are gorgeous. Every detail was well thought out and executed wonderfully. The breakfast and coffee was great too! Walking distance to everything and feels safe and secure. We will be back, thank you so much!

Words cannot define the time I spent here as each of us will experience something different and hopefully each time you return, it will have something different for you It was a very organic atmosphere where I felt welcomed. The Moonbeam room was absolutely beautiful, serene and the view was amazingly beautiful of downtown Detroit. It felt majestic, the breakfast bar was perfect and every morning there was a new homemade bakery item awaiting for me to try. Parking was inside a gated lot and the feeling of consideration they have for guests vehicles being safe was an added plus. You can walk around the area for restaurants and sight seeing or if you are doing something special in the area, the bus line Detroit offers is free to take on certain lines. Well worth a return trip!!
We stayed one night in a garden view level room that was very comfortable, a very nice queen bed and excellent recently remodeled bath. The greeting was warm and helpful. Secured parking and accessibility very good. Nice breakfast is offered and great coffee. The location is classic 1890s - 1910 Detroit, safe neighborhood and terrific access to the stadiums and arena for the professional sports, bars and avant garde restaurants. Highly recommend!
This was an incredible stay. Location is great, the breakfast and parlour area is a relaxing way to start the day. The Cass room was the perfect size for one person and really comfortable. Michelle is an incredible host and will give you all the recommendations you need to have an excellent time in Detroit. If I am ever back, I'm definitely staying here.
