We stayed in the Windsor suite, which was beautiful. We loved the hot tub! The bedding needed to be changed, which the front desk took care of right away, and we kept kicking the bed frame and stubbing our toes because it is essentially a box on the ground. Your charging cords will need a wall adapter as there were no USB charging ports that we could find. The manor was beautifully decorated for Christmas, very festive!
Don't not recommend staying in the cabins if you have a disability that affects your mobility. The handicap "access" rooms seem to only come with a queen size bed that sits at 40 inch from floor to mattress or 2 twin size bunk beds unless you want to sit on a pull out couch. The floor transitions between rooms stick up almost 2 inches tall making them a trip hazard for walkers and almost I'm possible for wheel chairs to move across without assistance. Staff seem to feel anytime you ask about something related to helping your stay like it's an inconvenience or you are calling at the wrong time and should know better. If you do call the main number to talk to the front desk be prepared to press 0 every 10 secs as the hold loops around back to the main menu and requires you to press 0 again or it will hang up. Had a problem with one of the 2 sliding glass doors that goes to the porch where it would not lock and when I called the front desk to inform them about it at night and to let them know that we would be out of the room in the late afternoon as we had an event to get ready for prior to it and told them what time we would be away at to make it easy for us and the staff I was informed that 1 I should have called in the morning as he didn't know how the maintenance staff worked and 2 I couldn't request a specific time to have the work done which was not the situation. The cabins have switches that seem to lead to no where. Showers are patched with caulk where holes in the liner and water pressure of toilets and sinks is almost non existent. The only thing that was nice was the shower had pressure. That's it. The lodge might be a 3 start hotel (won't know since we didn't stay in it) but the cabins which are $200 more night are definitely more on par with a seed motel. Most cabins don't have designated parking and the ones that do the guest seem to not know that's a parking spot and not a walk way. Because of this we had to park far away from our cabin and walk back to it in the dark.

My friend and I went there for dinner last night (had to try the prime rib). The meal was delicious, the view was beautiful and our waitress was WONDERFUL!!! She even brought us coffee with our dessert without us asking. I know that sounds insignificant to some but, to me, it's little things like that that mean so much. We walked around the lodge and outside (beautiful scenery)and just had a really enjoyable evening. We live near by so we weren't staying, thats why there is no room review. Lovely place though. Will definitely be going back.
We stayed for a weekend in the Saxon room which was very spacious and beautiful. However, there were numerous issues with this room. It directly above the kitchen and the windows all face the front entrance. If you stay in this room, you will hear people outside all evening. You will also be subject to all the kitchen smells, including the backed up drain that caused our room to smell like rotten eggs for a couple of hours. No hot water, and we did attempt to switch rooms but there was nothing comparable. The lodge itself is a treasure. Beautiful scenery all around. We kayaked, golfed and enjoying sitting outside enjoying the peace and serenity. I would absolutely not eat here unless you have hours to waste. We tried lunch, and it took nearly 2 hours to wait for drinks, food and the bill. There won't be any urgency to get you served in a timely manner. They're also out of many things, but they won't say anything upfront. I would definitely recommend visiting the area and staying in another room. A lot of interesting history and we appreciated the architecture and artifacts. I don't think we'll be back, but it was nice to experience the manor.
We've come here multiple times over the years for mothers day, breakfast with santa, even just a weekend getaway. Love the lodge, love the cabins, love the camping and even the summer flea market events. Included is a picture from this year's breakfast with santa!
