Unfortunately, would not stay here again. Have had better experiences at other Tru Hotels. The beds and pillows need serious replacement. Vents and air conditioning vents look to have never been cleaned. The one day we requested housekeeping, they ignored our message and nothing happened, at least we were give some clean sheets to change the bed ourselves when we came back in the evening. Affordable, but would choose a different hotel in the future.
Tru by Hilton Midtown was the most affordable hotel in the area. The service was good. It needs a good carpet cleaning and maybe replace furniture that is stained. The elevators are scary. They bounce slightly and shutter for 10 seconds when stopping. The beds are comfortable and the room was clean. Our hand soap was empty, we had to ask for one, but they brought it right away. Not horrible for the money especially with free breakfast.

Overall, very good! Polite front desk staff (actually, all staff), very clean rooms, the entire hotel felt VERY clean! The only mishap, there appeared to be some water damage on the ceiling in our room, but that didn't deter from our experience. We enjoyed the sitting area in the lobby, the tv was amazing and while we missed out enjoying the games in the lobby, that was a lovely surprise! At first, the area around the hotel seemed dilapidated, however after a little exploring - clearly the area is going through gentrification and we appreciated it even more. Very convenient location, close to Progessive Field, the Rock'n'Roll HOF, the house from A Christmas Story and Rowley Inn (120 year old bar!)
The most uncomfortable bed I've ever laid on for 2 days straight I walked around trying to see things with a sore back that I can hardly move.... The sheets didn't fit the beds and there was lipstick on my pillow and pillowcase... Everything else worked great The morning food was not bad. Besides the fact the room did not have a garbage can besides the bathroom. This place needs some investing done.... It basically seems old and ran down...
Stayed here for 2 nights, and it was great for the price. The free parking is a great perk, and it's in a great location. The fire pit outside was a nice touch, and the free breakfast was fine, but nothing special. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable, which is really all I need in a hotel.
