Enjoyed an early dinner here on July 4th. I’ve been before but just for oysters and drinks awhile ago. Oysters are delicious. We had reservations at 2:30, came early and got seated right away. Not busy for July 4th but I didn’t have the kiddos so this was something different for the holiday and a treat. For a few appetizers- Oysters Focaccia bread Shrimp cocktail Crab cakes Everything 10/10. Shrimp is massive and cocktail sauce was delicious. I have made reviews about crab cakes and how I am not a fan BUT-of course I had to try them and they were very delicious, not too dry, and they were on top of a very light arugula salad. The oysters came with super cute “shooters?”. A Tabasco one and a strawberry one. I don’t remember the strawberry one last time but it was honestly the better of the two and paired so well with the fresh oysters. Chefs kiss! All you need to do is look at the focaccia bread and see how this and the butter went quickly. Yummy! I got the waygu steak-medium. Boyfriend got the 16 oz ribeye -medium. We ordered the Brussel sprouts and Mac and cheese to go with because evening is à la cart. The brussel sprouts came out with blue cheese on them and maybe we just missed that totally on the menu and I don’t mind blue cheese but-did not care for them on the Brussels. I just don’t think it went together well just not a good pair. Our server Chelsea was wonderful and we explained the misunderstanding and we got them replaced with Brussels without and the were much better. Crispy, light, a little sweet. I didn’t care for the Mac and cheese myself, I like it a little more milky but overall, still decent. Overall, a wonderful experience. I adore the atmosphere and the vibes and the high ceilings. Chelsea was fantastic. Overall it took 1.5 hours so a little longer than expected but I will definitely recommend it to anybody! I think we spent $400 after tip so it’s not cheap BUT it’s a great experience! Got the tres leche cake for dessert and it was one of the better ones I have had. I like the pistachio tipping. Oh and yes, steaks were cooked great!

This was my first visit here. My wife brought me for my 49th birthday and I was in amazement. The art deco decor, the working retro reel to reel powering, the retro speakers was a nice touch as well as the antiques tastefully displayed around the restaurant. Our server Katherine was great, very knowledgeable and attentive and the food was well prepared. I had the bone-in New York strip. I definitely will be back as this is a place I will take out of town is to to impress them about what Indy has to offer.
I love this restaurant and recommend it to people all the time, either for special occasions or their happy hour. The wedge salad was our starter, and it was delicious, as expected. My friend ordered prime rib and I went for the small filet. We also got the side of Brussels sprouts. Then we each got a dessert. I got the mango cheesecake, and my friend got bread pudding with coffee gelato. We were celebrating a Birthday, and we also enjoyed the added birthday candle to my friend’s dessert. Everything was good, but the filet was a bit over-seasoned. It was cooked perfectly but the salt and pepper taste was a bit much. I also didn’t remember the Brussels being so sweet. They were good too, but again, heavy on the added marinade. The prime rib tasted as expected. Next time I’ll try some different sides. The Mango cheesecake looked lovely and was really good but light on the mango. My friend loved her bread pudding with coffee gelato. Service was fabulous. We arrived about ten minutes late due to construction but still got a table. We also asked to have a booth instead of a high-top and were accommodated immediately. I still recommend this restaurant, just maybe not the filet and Brussels.
We came here for date night, and they fit us in no reservation on a busy weekend night! Service was great. We had angel! She was so sweet and took great care of us. We got the Brie appetizer and beet and peach salad. Then we got the branzino and ribeye with a side of potato casserole. Food was great, portion sizes were good as well. We couldn’t decide on dessert so we got the sampler dessert which is a brownie and ice cream and your choice of two other desserts. It came out beautifully. We got the tres leches and bread pudding. Only problem was the tres leches was pretty dry, dense, and crumbly, and one of the bread puddings was a bit burnt and lacking the sauce on top. Manager did come over and take care of it for us which was greatly appreciated. Sampler desserts probably aren’t the same as if you just order them individually. Overall, good experience and good food!
I recently had a celebratory dinner here, and it was me & 9 other people. The table was set up so beautifully & ready on time. Stone was our server and I knew from past experience with him as my server that we would have great service, and we did! Stone was amazing at keeping up with our various food & drink orders, he was patient, kind and overall wonderful! Thank you, Stone! And thank you Fountain Room for always making my special occasions all the more special! I love coming here when I have something to celebrate, just with friends, on dates, and solo quite a bit! Fountain Room's filet steak is one of my absolute favorites! It is always cooked perfectly & the flavor is incredible! Honorable mention to their prime rib as well!
