If you are a fan of airplanes, the US Air Space or just want to spend your afternoon looking at the amazing creations human kind than the National Museum of the Air Force is for you. The had first plane that ever flew from the Wright Brothers all tbe through modern days planes, rockets, drones and space craft. Overall I had a really good time walking around and reading each of the plaques of the items on display and the only two reasons I am give it a 4 star out of 5 is that it was a little too warm walking around and it was too dark for my liking; other than that I loved it. I am glad I spent my afternoon there. Awesome time.
Fantastic Museum! Amazing little gem I never knew about. We are from out of state, but well worth the drive. No fee to get in. Hundreds of planes and so much history. Divided by time frames, wars, space & Nasa and Presidential area including planes you can walk through. All indoors, extremely clean and well designed. Plently of scooters for anyone who might need one - lots of walking. Highly recommend.

Fantastic museum! We are so fortunate in the Dayton area to have this local treasure. Parking and the museum are free. There is so much to see and read about that you could spend days taking it all in. With smaller children it can be a lot of walking so plan accordingly (carrier/stroller/etc.). A Vietnam helicopter pilot told us stories of the missions he flew and really made the history come alive. The only minor critique I would make is the snack area located between the 3rd and 4th building could have some better/healthier options. Other than that, this is a wonderful experience for people of all ages. Well done!
I just went here many hours ago and I will tell you this is a nice museum. 300+ aircraft in a museum is crazy. WW1 side has balloons, blimps, springfield rifle, and wright brothers. WW2 had a couple german, american, japanese aircraft and Philippines history. It also had 2 interactive games but the other one are for kids. Cold War has the BEST airplane ever bro, B2 Stealth Bomber!! One of the top 3 biggest airplane in the museum.
So this was the second time in my life that I have been in Dayton. My son and I picked up a long time friend and he suggested to my son the National Museum of the US Air Force. Little did he know, my son wants to join the Air Force. This place........ OMG. Crazy awesome. I have never been to a museum that was just so interesting and fun. My son absolutely loved the interaction stations and I'd be lying if I said I didn't want to try some of them when we go back. We didn't have a bunch of time, but I definitely plan on taking my son again. Next time, I will make sure I have enough time to play the games with my son. I honestly felt like a little kid in there with all the history, and wonder and excitement. This place is definitely worth checking out again and again. I can't wait for our next visit!!
