We did the "End of Spring Feast" historical dinner. We enjoyed food prepared with methods and recipes from the 1830's. We had brief 8 minute tours of 2 historic buildings with verbal descriptions of the processes used to prepare our actual evening meal. We also met a "tradesman" who talked about tools and methods to build buildings and make handles for tools. Then we were seated at one of 3 tables in the 4th oldest building in Ohio, the Newcom Tavern, where we were served a 3 course dinner of soup, then bread, veggies and the meat (beef is served in the spring) and lastly the dessert. Everything was very good and tasty. Before the dessert was served we were treated to a musical duo playing tunes and songs from the 1830's. All the workers were in period outfits/dresses. This event was well done. All the workers were super nice and knowledgeable of the early 1800's living in Ohio. This was a very unique evening and something most people will likely enjoy. Highly recommended!!
Beautiful park with tons of open spaces and an amazing museum. Restaurants, breweries, historical exhibits, and the largest bell tower I have ever seen or heard. Went there to check out more about vintage baseball club, The Clodbusters. Left having learned so much more. Great for families, active older adults who appreciate a historical site.

Although I didn't go into the museum, I did walk around the public areas of the park and along the Great Miami River Trail. The area is well maintained and has scenic views of the river and the Dayton Skyline.
This is one of those places I could go everyday and just enjoy the atmosphere. The fact that every time I'm there I learn something new, is fun and keeps me and my children engaged. We are season pass holders and likely will be for life! Fun for all ages. Step back into time And enjoy the experience!
Lovely place. Not everything was open the week day we were there (like the cafe). The staff are super friendly. Admission price for adult is i think a little steep but I have a tendency to think that of most admissions over $10.00. A couple things were under construction. Its one of those placed you'd probably go once a year yo kill a few hours on a nice day. Maybe in the summer they have more activities. Definitely, stop in if you're in the area.
