MO PROVIDED SUPERB CUSTOMER SERVICE IN THE LOUNGE! Room was on the smaller side but still nice. Hotel had beautiful art in lounge and lobby. But what stood out the most was the customer service received during check in and also the club lounge. Wow! Mo was so attentive! You can tell he really loves his job and serving people from the heart. Stocking shelves. Checking in on me. Making sure everyone who entered felt comfortable and at home. Mo is really a stand out guy who goes the extra mile in his work. Thanks for being such a great person and having excellent customer service. I’m sure he’s like that wherever he goes and whatever he does but Renaissance just lucked up and got him in the club lounge for now.
I was in town just for one night. The location was perfect close to downtown and it's beautiful on the inside. The staff was friendly and helpful and my room was clean although a touch dusty. I had a lovely sunrise view from my room on the 9th floor and the scenery was gorgeous. Holly in the executive lounge was a bright ray of sunshine first thing in the morning. She was extremely kind and helpful. I enjoyed the flavor of my jerk wings from the rooftop restaurant and the Lychee Empress drink was divine. All in all a very delightful experience.

This is my go to hotel in downtown tomorrow. Rooms are modern, nice, and clean. Rooftop bar and restaurant is terrific (expect it to reopen in March or April), and the downstairs hat and restaurant has surprisingly great food. Try the pork chop!
This is a beautiful hotel. Valet is friendly and moves quick. The rooms are spacious as well. I have one issue that’s not really an issue just something that could be fixed. While taking a shower the water became very hot to the point where I burned my hand and feet because I couldn’t move fast enough. I love hot showers but my concern was what if a child was using the water and it became hot without warning. This something that can be fixed and I hope that it gets addressed.
I travel into Toledo for work and have regularly been staying at the Renaissance downtown. I am a frequent traveler. This is by far the worst experience I have had in any hotel during my lifetime. I work 630a-730p so I use this hotel mainly for sleep. The day of Wednesday, January 21st, I checked in at 730 PM for a two day stay. I was lounging in my room when at 930 PM I heard a loud knock on the door. I walked to the door to see who could be knocking and to my surprise, a man barged into my room. He stated that he was maintenance and was there to change TV batteries. Needless to say, this scared me as a female solo traveler. I exited the room immediately and went to the front desk. The woman working was helpful and stated this was not protocol, but maintenance routinely disregarded set protocols for room entry. She offered me a room change, which I accepted. I was upgraded to their presidential suite (named the Glass City Suite) the same night for the trouble. The following evening, Thursday January 22nd, I returned to my room at 7:30 PM. As I slept I thought I heard the trickling of water but fell back asleep. At 0200 AM, a loud and intense crash woke me out of a deep sleep. The ceiling in the bedroom room had collapsed in, the ceiling tile was in pieces all over the floor. Ice cold water gushed in, following the ceiling tile. This was directly next to where I was sleeping, I honestly could have been injured, or killed. The tile was that heavy and saturated with water. I was absolutely terrified and disoriented in the dark room. I packed all my items into my suitcase while attempting to call the front desk. The front desk did not answer, so I threw on my clothes grabbed my bags and headed to the lobby. There was no one at the front desk at 0210 AM. I contemplated sleeping in my car until I left for work. Fortunately there was one employee who appeared in the lobby and went to find the front desk worker for me. He apologized, and offered to comp my stay. I was then moved to a third room, which I was assured had a stable ceiling. At 0220, I entered a corner King on the third floor. Upon entrance, it was apparent the room was freezing despite the sound of the heat running. The thermostat was set for Heat at 72 degrees, but read 63 degrees. I called down to the front desk and was assured the room would heat up if I increased the temperature on the thermostat. He said it would take 5 minutes, an it was only cold because it was previously unoccupied. Faced with a 0600 AM wake up and absolutely exhausted, I set the temperature to 90 and attempted to sleep. When I woke up, the thermostat read 58 degrees and was absolutely frigid. This was truly a nightmare stay, I am appalled at the state of this hotel. My work and mental health have suffered for staying at the Renaissance Toledo Downtown. I caution anyone contemplating booking this hotel. The staff are pleasant, however the facilities are poorly maintained and unsafe for any traveler. I will never stay at this hotel again, and have checked out for the last time.
