Our Girl Scout Troop had the privilege of visiting the IPS Crispus Attucks Museum for our Black History Month meeting, and it was truly an outstanding experience. From start to finish, Robert was exceptional. He made the reservation process simple and welcoming, and his guided tour was engaging, informative, and incredibly meaningful for our girls. He didn’t just walk us through the museum — he truly educated and inspired them. The girls asked thoughtful questions and had so many comments throughout the visit, and Robert took the time to answer each one with care and depth. They were so engaged that they didn’t want the tour to end — they actually wanted more time than our meeting allowed. That says everything. Both the girls and parents walked away having learned so much. It was a memorable experience that made a real impact, and one our troop will not forget. We are very glad we chose to hold our meeting here and would highly recommend the IPS Crispus Attucks Museum to anyone looking for a meaningful and educational experience.
My family and I had some down time while visiting extended family in Indianapolis over the holidays. We chose a culturally educational outing the week of Thanksgiving 2025. The Crispus Attucks Museum is a hidden gem that should not be missed! This is definitely a museum in which you want to take your time to read, listen, and examine all they have available. Not a huge museum in size, but packed wit a lot of great information, culture, history, etc. Although we had some hiccups accessing the Museum (i.e., plan ahead by calling and making a reservation) same day without a reservation, once we got inside, had an extensive oral introduction by the Curator (Mr. Chester), we freely toured and had a great time. Many thanks to Crispus Attucks High School front desk staff for pointing us in the right direction, administrators (Dr.Payne), and Curator Chester for welcoming us on a school day AND the week of a national holiday!

10/10 I would highly recommend this experience with Robert. I bought a few of my residents who actually graduated from the school! We need this gem in Indianapolis!
This museum is an absolute must-visit! From the moment I arrived, I was warmly greeted by a personable and knowledgeable guide who made the experience feel both personal and profound. The bright, well-designed displays draw you in immediately — filled with historical photographs, diagrams, and charts that tell the powerful story of Black people’s contributions to America since slavery. I was especially moved by the wide range of authentic artifacts from Africa — statues, textiles, and other cultural treasures that beautifully connect past and present. The museum also does a wonderful job highlighting the remarkable impact of Black individuals in Indiana, a part of history too often overlooked.
My Soror and I came to Indiana for a conference and HAD to see this museum. The information about the high school and Oscar Robertson were new to me. The knowledge in the museum was intriguing and interesting! The curators were VERY helpful and knowledgeable! I’m SO glad that we decided to come to this museum. Everyone can learn! It’s not just in the classroom. 💙
