I’d like to start off with the positive aspect of my visits: the receptionists. They were so clear, kind, and helpful. However, I have to continue this review in order to explain the two stars. It’s only fair. I haven’t had the ability to care for my teeth as I should have. I am trying to play dental catch-up, and I’ve been living in pain for a few weeks with a broken and infected tooth. Dental care is expensive, and my family’s needs come first. So, I waited until I couldn’t wait any longer. I scheduled an emergency limited dental exam for the broken and infected tooth, which went fairly well. The plan was straightforward, and it seemed like something I could execute on my end. I had to push the root-canal procedure out a bit due to income, and no one made me feel bad about having to do that. I appreciated it at the time. When it came time for the root canal, I was informed that the dentist would be just placing a temporary crown, which was explained to me after I asked. I didn’t realize that dental clinics refer out for endodontics on a normal, casual basis. Fine. The explanation made sense. I experience extreme anxiety for all dental visits, and I made that very clear. My mouth is also inconveniently small. I can imagine that dentists probably hate patients like me. But my anxiety and pain were roundly dismissed. The dentist and her assistant seemed exasperated with me, despite the fact that I was doing my absolute best to push past fear and pain. I was so concerned with the amount of pain I felt after the temporary crown was placed, and after asking for a reason for the pain, I was given a reductive answer. No real explanation. I don’t have experience with this, and it seemed like I had missed some vital piece of information that wasn’t furnished to me. I’d like the staff and dentist to know that there are thousands of people who can’t access regular dental care, and I do hope that they can find training and empathy for these cases.

My husband told me the dental hygienist at this place was a man and that he was great! Once again, he was right! Nick is awesome, to say the least. He was able to administer anesthesia. I like Dr. Ahmed too, but we didn’t have to wait for him to get started with my cleaning. Nick is very knowledgeable and you can tell he loves what he does for a living. He’s been at it for more than 20 years. I also liked that he was very gentle. I tensed up for the shot, but it was not necessary at all. My only advice is make sure you understand your insurance coverage before you step foot in this place because the front desk staff may not be able to determine if you have coverage or not. You might have to call the number on the back of your insurance card to confirm coverage for them, like it did; but despite that; I would give them two thumbs up 👍 👍
I recently visited this office to have a damaged crown repaired, and I couldn’t be more impressed with the entire experience. From the moment I walked in, the staff was warm, attentive, and incredibly professional. They made sure I was comfortable and explained every step of the process so I knew exactly what to expect. The dentist evaluated my crown with great attention to detail, pointing out the issue and walking me through the best solution. What really stood out was how gentle and precise they were. The adjustment and repair were done with such skill that I felt almost no discomfort at all. They took their time to ensure the fit was perfect checking my bite, smoothing the edges, and confirming that everything aligned naturally. If you’re looking for a dental team that genuinely cares about quality, comfort, and patient experience, I highly recommend them. - Karl
Wonderful experience, I had an outstanding experience at this dental office! The staff was warm and welcoming, the clinic was spotless, and my appointment started right on time. My dentist was incredibly thorough, gentle, and took the time to explain everything clearly. I left feeling confident, comfortable, and well cared for. Truly a five-star experience highly recommend! For anyone local, they were very helpful compared to other dentists.
I don't receive my routine dental care here or anywhere locally, but currently live in the area and needed widsom tooth extraction and came here to have the procedure done. I will say that their policy on obtaining and not charging for x rays if insurance won't cover it when billed is incredible. However, that is the only positive thing I have to say about this place. The majority of reception and scheduling staff is very rude and acts like having to pick up the phone is the most inconvenient thing to do. I called multiple times, weeks and days leading up to my procedure to get a quote for what I will owe out of pocket the day of with little to no answers or information. On the day of my procedure, they told me I have to pay for anesthesia upfront on top of the quoted amount, but will be reimbursed if my insurance covers the anesthesia, and that this is their policy. Fast forward to a few months later when I review my full insurance claim, and all anesthesia was covered. I reached out to Dentists at Hyde Park Plaza via email about getting my reimbursement, and they never responded to me. My insurance was billed for 45 minutes of anesthesia when I was in and rushed out of the room in less than 25 minutes total from when the physician came in, which seems like fraudulent billing to my insurance company. My after visit summary had no vitals other than one blood pressure recorded, and no record of what sedation medications were used during the procedure, which all should be visible to patients to know what happened and what they received. Clearly this is a systemic issue between both the clinical and non-clinical staff in this business, and I would not recommend.
