First things first, upon arrival the valet guy asked for my name and proceeded to question it in a very condescending way. He misheard my name and thought it was “Christian” (it’s Christin) and he repeatedly said it as if to imply there was something wrong with being a Christian…. This deeply bothered me. Upon arriving in our room, we could hear the people in the room next to us talking, they weren’t screaming, just having a conversation. The room had a door, so it was the type that could be adjoining if you’d need it. We asked for a different room that wasn’t able to be adjoining, and I guess that helped or else we had really quiet neighbors. The beds were comfortable enough. The air conditioner was obnoxiously loud and rattly sounding but I guess that would vary by room. The shower was insane, the water came out SO STRONG. There was no way to adjust it that we found, my husband wound up draping a towel over the shower head so that I could enjoy my shower without it feeling like little needles. It was a pretty hotel and I felt like it was decently clean. We were disappointed that the indoor pool/hottub were being renovated during our stay as that was one reason we chose this hotel, but I understand and think it’s great they’re keeping everything nice.
Staff are very helpful and friendly, especially Alexis. Yay! Location is fine for car travel, but not great if you want to go out for a stroll; the freeway is right there and noisy. Not too far away, however, (20-ish min walk) there are some restaurants, including Velvet Taco, which we went to twice. Yum. The hotel restaurant was not great in that the menu was hard to find, and was closed during the day. Amenities in the room were disappointing. No microwave or tea kettle, funky single coffee maker with limited pods and creamers. It got us up and out but was unsatisfactory for making that great cup of coffee. Fortunately the restaurant opened up at 6am and the coffee there was good. The indoor pool was under renovation but I peeked in and saw that, as usual with hotels, the photos on the website made it look much better than it is, i.e. it was small and not for laps. The Christmas decor was very nice.

One of the worst hotels that I have stayed in. The beds are noy comfortable. The breakfast is horrible. I was there dor my daughter's senior night and when it was time to get dressed the pipe in the bathroom fell apart in our room and the water from the sink was running out. We called for maintenance and they sent housekeeping with new towels. We had to pack everything move to another room while trying not to be late for our daughter's senior night. The new room was not that much better. The toilet kept running after you flushed it and we had to manually fix it ourselves. They had no management onsite or anyone we could talk to. When I called after checking out complain, the front desk agent hung up on me. I will never stay at this hotel again and I will never recommend it to anyone.
This is a hard NO to stay ever again. First the hotel is under renovation and it was not listed in the Bonvoy app as such. My a Platinum for life Marriott member. I relied on the pictures and information on the app and they were completely inaccurate. The rooms were just ok. But it’s one of those hotels with little lighting. The rooms are so dark. The bathroom does not have a real door it has a sliding door with such poor design and workmanship that the sliding door does NOT close. You have to use the restroom and shower with the door wide open. The staff from check in to check out was the most unfriendly and stuffy staff I have encountered at a hotel in years. The only nice staff was the valet gentleman who parked and retrieved our car. We were there 14 hours and I felt compelled to write this review. Do not book this place. They rely on being so close to SMU that they don’t try to have any customer service at all.
The hotel itself was fine, but the parking policy is ridiculous. There is no on-site self-parking, and valet costs $43 per night. This is not downtown, self-parking should be easy and plentiful, yet the hotel only offers valet, turning a basic convenience into an expensive and frustrating experience. Even when paying for valet, I ended up standing 30' away from my car waiting for an attendant, which felt like paying someone to waste my time. The hotel should be transparent about this policy before booking—if I had known, I would have chosen a different property. Until the parking policy is fixed or clearly disclosed, I cannot recommend staying here.
