It was a beautiful day in February. It was 60 degrees! We got to look out on the water. It was very peaceful and the fish was delicious! You have to try their honey biscuits. As we left the sun was setting over the water and it was really pretty.
I recently celebrated a birthday at The Lakehouse in Cleveland, and the experience was nothing short of delightful. To start, the chips and queso dip were a great way to ease into the meal. The queso was warm and velvety, with just enough kick to keep each bite interesting, and the chips were crisp and plentiful—ideal for sharing while we waited for our entrées. The pigs in a blanket were another standout appetizer. Often a simple dish, these were executed with finesse the bread was golden and crisp without a hint of burn, while the hotdog inside was perfectly cooked, juicy and warm. It’s rare to see such attention to detail in a comfort classic. For the main course, the Parmesan-crusted chicken stood out. The crust had a satisfying crunch and rich flavor, beautifully complemented by the house dressing that added a tangy, herbaceous lift. It was a pairing that felt thoughtfully composed. Service throughout the evening was top tier attentive without being intrusive, and genuinely warm. The staff made the birthday feel special without overdoing it, striking that perfect balance of celebration and relaxation.

We ordered the chopped salad and Nashville hot chicken sandwich with margaritas for dinner. The quality of the food was comparable to Applebee’s and the margarita had no tequila in it, only the mix. We are not sure if it was the food or the margarita mix that made us sick, but we were unfortunately dealing with upset stomachs and feeling nauseous for the remainder of the night. I’ve previously had a nice brunch at Lakehouse in the summer, but would use caution if you order any of the dishes or drinks mentioned.
Atmosphere and service were great. We enjoyed the fried food and the coleslaw! The lake erie walleye was very tasty but it was too buttery/oily when paired with the succotash.
The atmosphere at The Lakehouse is light and airy, and the service was fantastic from start to finish. We started with the “Go Jump in the Lake” and “Spice and Slice” cocktails. Both drinks creative and delicious. For a starter, we ordered the potato chip bucket and were pleasantly surprised by how fresh and flavorful the dip was. For lunch, we tried the pepperoni flatbread, which had a delightful touch of honey on top, and the shrimp & crab Louie, which was packed with meat and had a great blend of flavors. I would definitely come back to try more from the menu. Overall, a great experience!
