Los Angeles City Hall is one of the most iconic landmarks in downtown Los Angeles and a must-visit destination for anyone interested in history, architecture, and city views. Designed in a classic Art Deco style, the building stands out with its elegant symmetry, white stone exterior, and impressive central tower that has become a defining feature of the Los Angeles skyline. Visitors consistently praise both its exterior and interior. Inside, the marble lobby, high ceilings, and detailed architectural elements create a strong sense of history and civic importance. One of the highlights is the free public observation deck on the 27th floor, which offers a stunning panoramic view of downtown Los Angeles, stretching all the way to the surrounding mountains on clear days. It is also considered one of the best underrated spots for New Year’s Eve celebrations. The surrounding downtown area lights up with a festive atmosphere, and the skyline views make it a popular place to welcome the new year. Many locals and visitors gather nearby to enjoy the city’s energy, lights, and holiday excitement. Overall, Los Angeles City Hall is not only a historic and architectural landmark, but also a great place for sightseeing and seasonal celebrations, making it a truly worthwhile stop in the heart of the city.
Went to the observation deck. Very easy check in you need to show id, bags just had to go through a metal detector. Good 360 views that can be seen inside and outside. And its Free!!!!!

Massive metroploitan city ..so diverse. Recommend downtown walk for modrn architecture and the beaches. Sky's the Limit here...
It appears that City Hall is for Celebrating accomplishments and acknowledgement of various cultural Groups in the City. It doesn't seem to be a burning desire to address or pin point the problems facing Los Angeles. It starts at the top, if nothing changes then nothing changes.
Came here for a trip to the top to see the view from the observation deck. Free admission, but you have to do a bag & metal detector check and also sign in to get a badge. We took three separate elevators to get to the top, one of which was very beautiful and decorated. The view was nice, but I wish we came at sunset!
