Nice space on Monroe Street where Mancy's Ideal used to be. I had the grilled salmon with asparagus spears and mashed potatoes. The sauce they had on the plate was quite good, and the salmon was grilled well and tasted great. My wife had spaghetti and meatballs, she got the vodka cream sauce on her spaghetti as a request, normally comes with the chicken parmegian, and she really enjoyed it. Nicole our server did great and was very informative about the food options. Also for dessert our table shared a chocolate creme brulee and bread pudding, those were both very good, the creme brulee in particular was my favorite. Check out the Standard, you won't be disappointed!
My wife and I dined here the week before Mother’s Day. One word to describe our experience: WOW. The food was exceptionally good. We ordered the cheesy bread for our appetizer and it was the best cheesy bread I’ve ever had. My wife got a steak for her entree while I got the chicken parm and both were stellar. The caramel apple cheesecake for dessert was to die for. Everything was insanely delicious. Service was top notch, our drinks were never empty and our waitress followed up after dropping off each plate. We’re very excited to come back soon!

Outstanding meals across the board, from the carppacio, mussles, and an excellent beet salad, just to start. Next, the spaghetti and meatballs, chicken parmesan and the salmon! Only issue, a little over use of salt. No need, the food was fresh and delicious. Last the cheesecake and French press coffee, was a great way to end. Important to note, the leadership of management and the service from Nicole was fantastic. This is a husband & wife, chef owned restaurant! A must visit and a definite return!
Absolutely phenomenal meal from start to finish. Service was incredibly attentive with multiple staff members checking on us throughout the night. Started with the mussels, which were excellent. The French onion soup was very good, but be aware, the serving was very large. Plenty to share. We had a swordfish special served over polenta and the ribeye. Both great. Finished the meal with banana pudding cheesecake.
The Standard was hands down the best place my partner and I visited during our trip to Toledo from Detroit. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was perfect for date night — low lighting, intimate ambience, and an overall upscale but comfortable vibe. Our server, Alison, was absolutely phenomenal. She was extremely knowledgeable and took the time to thoroughly explain the menu to us. Not only that, but she also shared the history of the restaurant and even gave us recommendations for other places to check out around town, which we really appreciated. She was attentive the entire evening and made the experience feel personal and welcoming. We also appreciated how accommodating she was — there were a few things we didn’t love and she had no problem taking them back and making sure we enjoyed our experience. We both ordered the New York Strip steak dinners and they were PERFECT — cooked exactly right, flavorful, and easily one of the best meals we’ve had in a while. The bar drinks were delicious as well and paired perfectly with dinner. I would highly recommend The Standard to anyone visiting Toledo, especially for a date night or special occasion. We’ll definitely be back the next time we’re in town.
