This carousel is placed right next to the Detroit River. While you ride you can look out and see across. It really is a beautiful spot. The carousel is free to ride which is great! I feel like nothing is free anymore. The lady who was working that day was so nice and patient with all the kids. We will definitely be going back!
The GM building in downtown Detroit is one of those places you think you know until you actually walk inside. Everybody talks about the tall glass towers and the view of the river, but not many mention how the lobby feels like its own little city—shops, cars on display, random spots to sit and people-watch. It’s not just a business building; it kind of feels like a mix of a museum and a mall. At night the lights hit different, especially from the riverfront side—it almost looks futuristic. Parking can be a pain, but once you’re there it’s worth it just for the vibe and the energy around it.

Beautiful in the early morning. Just to sit and think hear the birds chirping, boats in the background and the water hitting the pier . There is plenty of seating, and many are up on their morning run this morning. Everything is maintained so beautifully. Short walk to the GM Renaissance Center. And the Carousel 🎠 is picture perfect.
Wow, what a great addition to the Detroit Riverwalk. FREE to the public. Limited hours of operation. Enjoy a ride on the carousel while checking out some great views of RenCen, downtown and Detroit River. Children or adults are allowed to ride. Close to a playground and next to public restrooms.
Of course gotta give it a 5 star review being the location is great surround by tons to see and of course being it is right off of detroits beautiful river walk! This place like most of the places around here have came so far in the last 10 years and I couldn't be more proud to say I've been able to watch its development! Welcome to Downtown Detroit!!
