It was sad. Plastic garbage bags everywhere in the water, obviously been there for years. While we saw turtles and some wildlife we felt sorry for the filth that they were surviving in.
Lovely elongated lagoon in the Texas State Fair Park. The lagoon has paddle boat dragons to rent and organic looking sculpted walking platforms at either end of the pond. Many turtles paddle around and enjoy being fed from the long metal bridge across the middle of the lagoon. There is a large parking lot nearby.
Very nice for a casual walk. Certainly can be better maintained. Overall, pleasant and a great way to spend the day.

One of the most beautiful settings in the park! Perfect for photo opportunities!
This place is so much fun to check out during the off season! We love bringing the kids out, taking picnic supplies and just enjoying the view. There is so much to explore and the best part is, it's free!!! You can park in the grounds or take the train. The gates are open freely during the off season. Just keep in mind there is wildlife and to pick up after yourself of any trash. We love seeing whats swimming around in the lagoon but hate seeing the trash floating about. Well worth a trip if you have only checked it out during Fair season!
