I am extremely disappointed with the lack of communication and follow-through from this office regarding an urgent insurance authorization, especially given how amazing Dr. Nicole Johnson has been over the past almost 2 years. Since my appointment on February 5, my pharmacy and insurance have repeatedly submitted requests to the office, yet the necessary information has still not been provided. Despite my appeal being approved as urgent with a 72-hour review window, I was told by the office manager, Dayton, to simply “wait,” and Joy has been unhelpful as well. The ongoing delays and lack of accountability have postponed medical treatment and caused unnecessary stress. Very disappointing.
NP Woodell was exceptionally welcoming, attentive, and compassionate throughout my visit. From the moment she came into the room, she made me feel comfortable and genuinely cared for. As a new patient, I appreciated how thorough she was in reviewing my history and addressing all of my questions without rushing. Her calm, patient demeanor and clear explanations made the entire experience reassuring and positive. It was evident that she values her patients and takes the time to provide truly personalized care. Thank you again, NP Woodell!

When my partners name was called the nurse told me “Just the patient.” I looked confused and was continuing to head back. And she again repeated “Just the patient!”. I went to the front desk and I asked if there was a policy where I wasn’t allowed to go back and he said no as long as it was okay with the patient. (Note: the front desk staff was super nice!) He asked for my partners name and found her room. He then took me back there to her room, and once I was inside the nurse asked “why are you here?” and then proceeded to guide me out the room, told me to go out and wait in the lobby, and shut the door in my face. I have never been treated this way in a medical facility. I told the same guy at the front desk she kicked me out and he also looked confused, but I decided to go wait in my car.
My children recently started seeing Woodell, and the first visit went great. However, when I needed a form filled out, I didn’t receive any response for three days. I finally sent a question mark just to get an update, and I was told the form couldn’t be completed after waiting for about 5 days. The message included another facility’s name in bold, sent by an LPN named Laura, and it came across as very rude. I’ve been with this practice for over seven years and have never been treated like this. The staff is normally friendly, especially the front desk and urgent care team, so this experience was disappointing.
January 2, I went in for a annual physical and Kaitlyn Woodell said that her billing team was excellent and that all the labs and tests should be covered by insurance .now there is a LabCorp invoice that was generated because the coding on the lab work was not correctly. almost an hour on the phone with insurance and LabCorp and the billing department at University family physicians have not resolved the issue. now a message is saying call the Novant billing department again.
