Had a wonderful dinner at The Purple Pig. We started with the hummus, which was creamy, flavorful, and a great way to begin the meal. The grilled broccoli was perfectly charred with just the right balance of seasoning. For the mains, the halibut was fresh, tender, and cooked beautifully. The spinach pappardelle was rich, comforting, and packed with flavor without feeling too heavy. The atmosphere was lively, the service was friendly and attentive, and every dish felt thoughtfully prepared. It’s easy to see why this place is so popular. I’d definitely come back to explore more of the menu.
We had a great meal at The Purple Pig. We ordered the crispy pig ears, roasted bone marrow, agnolotti, chitarra, and pork belly, which gave us a nice mix of small plates, pasta, and richer meat dishes. The pig ears were especially fun and crunchy, while the bone marrow and pork belly were indulgent and full of flavor. Agnolotti with marrow was indulgently flavorful and was balanced by the squid ink chitarra. It is a great place for sharing several dishes and trying a little of everything. Seasonal passion fruit pan a cotta was a perfect ending. Definitely worth visiting when you are in Chicago.

Great experience. My bf had highly recommended this to me based on the last time he came here (when it was at the old location). Good service. Nice interior. The food was mostly all delicious. The beets appetizer was recommended by the server. I'm not really into beets but surprisingly this was super good. The beets were soft. Paired well with the cheese and peanut butter. Interesting combos that I wouldve never thought of but it works! The pork tongue was good too. Mushroom risotto was a great entrees! Filled with scallops and mushrooms. Delicious and simple. The pork shoulder was another recommendation by the server. It was good, but bf and I enjoyed the mushroom risotto more. The pork shoulder was a bit heavy and the sauce was a bit salty for our personal taste. Saw the table next to us get apple cobbler and it looked so good that we had to get one also. It was so delicious! The pipping hot apple cobbler with the melty cinnamon ice cream. Great meal.
Food is quite excellent here. Beef tartare was well flavored, nice presentation, just the right amount of toast to go with it. The pork ribeye was juicy and tender. Dessert was quite decent. Service is friendly and attentive. Atmosphere wise is quite noisy like a sports bar more than a restaurant.
Porcine Perfection on Michigan Ave! The Purple Pig never misses. Sitting right at the counter to watch the open kitchen action made for a fantastic dining experience. I kicked things off with the Duck Croquettes, which were crisp on the outside, rich on the inside, and paired beautifully with the provolone, apple, eggplant purée, and kimchi accents. For the main event, the Iberico Pork Tenderloin was executed flawlessly—cooked to a perfect medium, incredibly tender, and layered beautifully over oyster mushrooms, squash, spinach, and crispy pancetta in a rich jus. A glass of Italian Nebbiolo tied the entire meal together flawlessly. The food was spectacular, the kitchen team was fun to watch, and the service was completely on point. A must-visit in Chicago!
