No soap. There wasn't any soap in our room. Three requests to the front desk didn't solve it. Trip to the local gas station solved the problem, and produced a wonderful ice cream surprise. That meant our room was never made up over 3 days. Other than that, it was a perfect getaway for the weekend. The room was very updated and clean. We opted for the pool view, which made for a nice dedicated spot for our stuff and a short walk to take a dip in the pool. Had some very nice meals in the restaurant and some delightful appetizers in the bar. The trails were well marked and easy to navigate. The beach was large and had ample room for visitors and some nice picnic areas. We didn't use the Marina, but lots of folks enjoying motorized fun on the lake. One neighbor in the restaurant claimed it was the best waterskiing in the state. We did not have unreasonable expectations of luxury, so we were delightfully surprised with the accommodations.
We stayed a Tuesday night in August. The staff at the lodge and resturant were excellent. Our lakeview room was clean and comfy inside. But the balcony and windows were covered in dead bugs and spider webs. I get that we're in the woods, some intrusion of nature is going to happen and should be expected. But this isn't just a missed cleaning. It's a week or weeks worth of not cleaning. The food and the service at the resturant both good but again, CLEAN THE WINDOWS! Webs, dead bugs and spiders crawling all over the outside. See the picture I've added. Same problem with the large windows and balcony in the main lobby. Reading through the reviews this appears to be a problem that's been going on a long time. Management is well aware of the problems by their response in the reviews. They continually promise to address the problems but obviously don't. And its the staff that has to deal with the customers complaints that management continually fails to correct. Lack of maintainance can't be blamed on remodeling. This place has plenty of potential if managed properly.

We stayed in a pet friendly cabin. The inside was cleaner than other cabins we have stayed in so we were pleasantly surprised; however the outside walk way to get into the cabin was the worst we have ever experienced. It just needs the spiderwebs/eggs cleaned up. I realize we are outside but you cannot go in and out the front door without getting them all over you. If it was cleaned even twice monthly it would be tolerable, but I dont think it has ever been cleaned off.
Beautiful lodge, there is seating everywhere for lounging. The indoor and outdoor pools were great. But the lodge needs better management over cleaning and maintenance. The pool restrooms were terrible. They didn't look too be actually cleaned for quite sometime. The gate entering the pool are from the restrooms was rusted off at the floor. It needs some love and care and it could be an amazing place. Hopefully they can improve.
We just wrapped up a wonderful five-day stay at Deer Creek Lodge with the family, from the end of June into July 2026, and honestly, it couldn't have gone better. From the moment we arrived, the place was spotless, and the staff made us feel so welcome — they really went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. Our room was huge, with a queen bed and four bunk beds, which made it so easy and comfortable for all of us to spread out together. We loved having both an indoor and outdoor pool to choose from, both sparkling clean, and there were always plenty of towels around, which we really appreciated with kids in tow. The restaurant and bar were great, and even the grown-ups had fun with the pool tables! Outside, there's a cozy fire pit and a little playground for the kids, and the whole property sits right along a gorgeous lake — such a peaceful spot to unwind. Add in the mini arcade, an on-site laundry area (a lifesaver on a longer trip), snack vending machines, coffee bars scattered around, and a gift shop with all the essentials, and you really don't need to leave the property at all. We can't recommend this place enough for a family getaway — just come prepared with sunscreen, bug spray, and bottled water if you're not used to the area. This was easily one of our favorite family trips, and we'll definitely be back.
