Don’t sleep on this place! Beautiful and modern exhibits. Went on the “kiss the bricks” tour. It was $25 pp for the museum entry and $15 pp for the tour, well worth it. Kids wanted to go back the next day!
Grandparents and Uncle visited and this was a great place to take aside from it being a well renowned attraction. We only entered the museum as it was not planned. This was a great indoors experience as the heat lately has been too much and the museum had plenty of rest areas for my grandparents, elevator access to go between floors and even had interactive activities that we were able to use that were not expected. We didn’t do any of the tours but got a chance to se a car go around the track a few times and we were able to walk outside the museum and take pictures of the surroundings.

Wonderful facility that displays the rich history of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Plenty of historical vehicles on display including a selection of Official Pace Cars. There is also an interactive zone where you can handle equipment in a mock-up pit stop. There are also simulators so you can test your skills driving around the circuit. There is also a wing dedicated to Penske Racing. This museum is well presented. Highly recommended.
What a great presentation. They have lots of the older cars, which was really cool. The time capsule garage set ups were impressive, where they have a car stationed in a garage with era appropriate tools etc. The actual winners trophy was huge. And being inside the track was the best. All in all a great visit.
While attending my second race this year, we had the opportunity to visit the newly renovated museum. Overall, the experience was engaging, with an impressive collection of cars, detailed historical information, and well-curated exhibits featuring helmets, racing gear, and key moments in the sport’s history. However, one section stood out as particularly disappointing. The representation of female journalists was limited to a small display highlighting only two individuals—Sally Larvick Page and Jamie Little. In contrast to the expansive and detailed exhibits dedicated to their male counterparts, this section felt minimal and underdeveloped. While I understand that women’s roles in motorsports journalism have evolved more recently, their contributions deserve more meaningful recognition and visibility than what is currently presented.
