cant say enough good things. front desk staff coming through after a less than ideal experience at another Marriott property 10min away. 5/5 Bar staff good, one was very helpful and knowledgeable, another needs to work on people skill and their menu. 4/5 Food- 5/5. Rooms were great, clean, comfortable, quiet. Lounge food could use a little work, lounge it self was nice though. Evening/over night security was a nice surprise! I had a fantastic stay at the Renaissance Indianapolis North Hotel. From the moment I arrived, the staff was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and attentive, making the entire experience feel first-class. The hotel itself is newer, very clean, and well-maintained, which really stood out right away. One of the highlights was the restaurant, the food was excellent, with great options and quality that exceeded expectations for a hotel dining experience. Everything from the atmosphere to the service made it enjoyable. Overall, this is a top-notch place to stay whether you’re in town for business or leisure. I would absolutely recommend it and look forward to coming back!

We recently used a Marriott free night award (plus an additional 10,000 of our own Marriott points) for a one-night stay at the Renaissance Carmel on June 20, 2026. Unfortunately, the experience fell well below what we expect from a Renaissance property. To start with the positives, the gentleman at the front desk during check-in was friendly, professional, and accommodating regarding our room preferences. The breakfast buffet the following morning was also enjoyable. Unfortunately, the room itself had multiple maintenance and housekeeping issues. Upon arrival, the window curtains appeared to be off their track and would not open properly. I notified the front desk so maintenance could address it and to document that the damage was not caused during our stay. After ordering room service, my meal was disappointing. The chicken was extremely overcooked, and the crème brûlée appeared to have been sitting for some time, with an oily texture and warm consistency that made it inedible. For the money spent on two meals and a dessert, the quality did not meet expectations. The most concerning issue occurred when I used the restroom. When I lifted the toilet seat, there was urine all over the seat cover. This should have been caught during routine housekeeping. To the hotel's credit, the front desk apologized and provided complimentary breakfast vouchers, but I still had to wait nearly 20 minutes for housekeeping to arrive and properly sanitize the bathroom. Additional maintenance issues continued throughout our stay. The closet door was off its track, making it difficult to access the iron and ironing board. The desk outlet could not reliably power a standard 1875-watt hair dryer and repeatedly tripped every few seconds. I ultimately had to move to the bathroom outlet to finish drying my hair. The room design also presented challenges. The shower was extremely narrow, and I repeatedly bumped the temperature control while showering, causing the water temperature to change unexpectedly. The beds were also exceptionally firm. Both my husband and I woke around 4 a.m. with significant back pain and muscle spasms, resulting in such poor sleep that we checked out earlier than planned and later needed a three-hour nap after returning home. One final concern: although we used complimentary breakfast vouchers provided by the hotel and we were never presented with a bill to sign, a $49 charge later appeared as pending on our credit card account. I'm hoping it falls off, but at the time of writing this, it remains unresolved. This is not our first disappointing experience at this property. We had hoped that after the renovation and remodel, previous issues would have been addressed. Instead, we encountered multiple housekeeping, maintenance, dining, and billing concerns during a single overnight stay. Based on this experience, we will likely use our Marriott rewards at a different property in the future.
We have done travel sports for years and this is the best hotelnthatnwenhave stayed in. The food at the in house restaurant was fabulous with the best fries approved by 4 people that had their hands in them lol. Great location with a lot of things around that close your gonna like it. GM was there was only 1 lady that was a little To nonchalant for our liking.
This hotel left a bad taste in my mouth from the moment I checked in. Rachel manager not personable at all. Asked her about early departure fees (in the event we needed to leave early due to our tournament ending early) she basically shut that down and aid yeah… you have to pay for all nights you booked, no exceptions. She additionally had an attitude bc I asked to be on a higher floor other than the 2nd floor although my reservation requested a high floor. She Didn’t provide any details regarding offers of the hotel- restaurants, breakfast times, amenities… nothing whatsoever. Not even just a pleasant welcome! No safe in the room. The rooms are dated. Looks like the bathrooms may have been upgraded at some point but the rooms absolutely need a face lift. Stepped out for a minute and let the front desk staff know that I needed to leave a key for my 15 yr old who is out with friends but would be returning. They wanted him to show a photo id etc etc mind you he is a kid. Overall hate this hotel. 3 more days until check out will update this post in the coming days on if this place gets better or worse. Only stayed here due to NFL recommendation but would def not return. Wouldn’t recommend this place even for a pet to stay the night
