I had the pleasure of working with the Bluesound team on a historic home renovation of an English Tudor in West Seattle—an old home ready for a more thoughtful, well-utilized floor plan and a remodel that felt true to its era. I’m an interior designer in the greater Seattle area specializing in custom, bespoke homes, and I was first connected with Ben & Courtney, the owners, through the Institute of Classical Architecture & Art (ICAA). From the start, it was clear that we share a deep respect for traditional homes and the principles behind historic preservation. Their entire team was an absolute pleasure to work with, and truly what every designer hopes for in a construction partner. Their craftsmanship is exceptional—not just in execution, but in the care taken to study and carry forward the home’s original millwork, proportions, and architectural language. That level of thoughtfulness is what allows a historic renovation to feel cohesive and enduring, rather than like new work layered onto old. What stood out most throughout the process was their collaborative spirit. They were communicative, detail-oriented, and incredibly solution-driven—approaching every challenge with both technical skill and creativity. Whether coordinating with trades or refining complex details, their team remained engaged and committed to achieving the best possible outcome for the home and our clients. They were the kind of “yes” people who can truly deliver. This project was a genuine collaboration in every sense, and the end result reflects that—rich with character, deeply considered, and built to last. I would gladly partner with them again on any Seattle historic home renovation and highly recommend them to anyone seeking a builder who brings both craftsmanship and care to historic remodels.

After extensive review of many contractors we chose Ben and BSC for a 14month whole house remodel. After hearing many stories from friends about what to expect on a major remodel we were so pleasantly surprised at how well things went with BSC. We stayed on time, on budget, quality was high, and we were completely in the loop the entire time. I run enterprise level programs and the quality of management was at the top. BSC uses an app (BuilderTrend) to manage everything which was amazing. All documents, arch diagrams, bills, details and more were available whenever i wanted. Every day they posted a report including pictures of all work done, and if I had any feedback I could provide directly even commenting on the pictures. In addition we held weekly standups with me, the architect, lead carpenter, project manager, and any relevant sub - there was an agenda typed out before and all feedback was captured and put in the app both to ensure all were aligned and also to memorialize. Ben also takes a personal commitment to ensure both the quality of build and the satisfaction of his clients. I would highly recommend BSC to anyone who is looking for a very well managed job, on budget, and with quality build.
Blue Sound did a great job with our whole home remodel. They were both on schedule and on budget despite some significant additional scope (new roof!) that we added. I've spoken with a lot of friends about their remodels, and one thing they've all been missing is a Project Manager. Their projects have been over budget and late because the person doing the construction work doesn't have the time or skills to look at the project as a whole. We had a really strong PM that kept the project, and us, moving along. He helped make the project as easy of an experience as a home remodel can be.
Blue Sound was a pleasure to work with throughout our year long renovation. We were prepared for the inevitable bumps and bruises that go along with a big home renovation project so we came in with that expectation but Blue Sounds communication and management of our project exceeded our expectations. They were very close to the pin on both timeline and cost (which is their reputation and part of the reason we chose them initially), and effectively contributed solutions when we needed to make tradeoffs or unexpected things came up. Their collaboration and transparency made the process as smooth as it could be and we're so thankful for that. The crew is friendly and meticulous and their craftsmanship really made our vision come to life. We would highly recommend them for your next reno/home build. Thank you to Ben, Lukas, Jonny and the whole team!
I had the pleasure of working with the owners of Blue Sound Construction in a recent professional transaction. They were refreshingly honest, easy to work with, and handled everything with real professionalism. Id be glad to work with them again in the future.
