Oak Street Health Jefferson Village Primary Care Clinic

Before my last visit I had great experiences, and I adore Dr.J. Choi, he explained things to me, very informative and treated me like family. Staff were polite and professional, BUT THE LAST VISIT was awful, I was left sitting in a room for almost an hour, then the nurse practitioner, came in and told me she'd be in a few minutes which took almost half an hour. The entire time I'm in a great deal of pain and coughing because I was very congested both sinus and in my chest. She was concerned about looking at my feet (?), which she had 1 of the medical assistant ask me if she could look at my feet earlier , which I said okay at that time When she finally got too me I asked for Dr. Choi, I was told he had already left for the day. No one told him I was waiting to see him. That upset me so much, I began to cry, I had been wanting for almost 2 hours only to be told he's gone also he's the only one able to give me the injection to help the swelling in my knee, which was causing me a great deal of pain and he's the only that can refill my cough medicine. Things went down hill fast, the nurse practitioner became very short and rude with me, I had told her no she can't look at my feet I'm on so much pain and she's told me she can't do anything to help me, however if I'm willing to cooperate get my feet checked , let her examine me it's within her discretion to call inn medication for my cough rather refill my prescription My attitude was just leave I'm in pain, exhausted and tired of waiting. I'll go to the emergency room for help. She spoke to me like I was unworthy of her help, I got up while she was talking and told please let me out and I want to speak to the manager, who appeared to care less about my situation, I told I'm not coming back, she said that's your right as she was typing up a report and was also very short with me, you know when someone is being dismissive towards you and I felt her attitude of a lack of concern. I asked if I could get her to call me a Lyft to get home, she said sure and if was anything else, I said no then she said have a seat on lobby, she told a staff member to call. I got no apologies, no consideration for my situation, nothing. There was a party like atmosphere and load music where people were dancing, and mist of the staff were laughing and talking and ignored I was there I finally asked if she had got the Lyft and one of them responded, oh, and went back to her desk to call one, then went back to chat with the other staff. However she gave them the wrong information she had told them to pick me up by the grocery store at the end of the strip Mall. I called Wellcare to report the awful I'mtreatment at my visit and asked to return to the previous clinic I was going to. I bought the ads on TV and went to Oak Street and while I received excellent care from Dr. Choi and the fact he wouldn't be back until some time I'm March ( this was in February) I thought it best given the current status of my health right then. It only takes 1 time to hurt a patient and cause them harm. Hopefully this won't happen to anyone else but I'm not taking a chance to be treated like I wasn't human or that my issues didn't matter.
