Our stay at the Garland was filled with what will definitely be core memories. It's so vibey and comfortable, and everyone who we interacted with was friendly and inviting and incredibly helpful. The pool area is so fun, great for kids and adults! The food and drinks are good. The beds are comfortable. The shuttle to Universal studios is so helpful. Extra shout out to Jordan, the concierge, who went above and beyond to help correct what was a fiasco of a guided tour that we purchased through the store.
I recently stayed at The Garland in North Hollywood and overall had a very good experience. From the moment we arrived, the hotel staff was friendly and attentive. The check-in process was quick and smooth. The hotel has a modern style with a nice retro touch. The room was clean, spacious, and very comfortable. The common areas, especially the pool, are perfect for relaxing. The location is also excellent, close to Universal Studios and other attractions. However, the only negative part was the restaurant experience. We were waiting to be called to be seated at a table, and they never called us. It was an uncomfortable situation, and I personally felt that it might have been because of the way we were dressed, which left me with a bad impression. Despite that, my overall experience at the hotel was very good, and I would consider staying there again.

I stayed here with my husband and two children. The hotel is beautifully decorated and has a fun 70s vibe that gives it a unique personality. I did not use the pool or participate in the activities, so I can’t speak to those amenities. My 2-star rating is mainly due to the bathroom, which is an important part of any hotel stay. The bathroom has a sliding door with a film-covered window. The lock did not work, and the door did not fully close. Anyone with very young children knows how important it is to have a properly locking bathroom door. Additionally, the toilet clogged immediately with only toilet paper, which was frustrating. The film-covered door also let in a significant amount of light, lighting up the bedroom area at night when others were trying to sleep. I was also disappointed that the Universal shuttle only ran every two hours between 12–5 p.m., which is exactly when families often want to take an afternoon break. Lastly, we were charged $50 for parking, which felt excessive given the large parking lot and the fact that we were already paying for a room. Lastly, the elevator was pretty old and slow. On a positive note, the sliding glass doors going out to the balcony were top notch at keeping the noise out.
We stayed at The Garland for a few nights over New Year 2025. The Hotel is beautiful, clean and family friendly. Literally something out of a Christmas movie. Staff were outstanding and so hepful. Check in was super fast and as we arrived earlier than our check in time at 3pm they kept our cases safe so we could go out and explore for the day. The facilities are great, Hotel Reception is beautiful and always smelt amazing. Food and Drinks were always available ... cocktails were very strong haha!. Hotel Rooms were spacious and clean. Beds were super comfortable also. Shower was lovely and powerful. Swimming pool area was always clean and they even had movies playing in the evening in this area, great for the kiddos. The fact they provide a free tram service to get to Universal Studios is an amazing perk of staying here and its literally 5 minutes away. I cannot reccomend this Hotel enough and I cant wait to come back and stay in the future.
I want to repeat our trip to Universal Studios just to stay at the Garland again! This hotel is wonderful. Although it is close to the highway, we didn't hear any noise. The beds are super comfortable and all of the decor and fixtures are high quality (more so than typically found in hotels). One small detail that delighted us, the door to the room props open. We decided to dine at the restaurant and were blown away by the quality and delicate balance of flavors. Absolute perfection. And the staff at the restaurant had a natural rapport – we felt as though we were treated as close friends. The grounds are beautiful to just walk and enjoy and the pool has extra details like a bar that opens onto the pool, showers and nice WCs that make it extra special. And there is self-service laundry available near the pool. Oh, and they have a shuttle to Universal Studios! Everything about our stay was above average and outstanding.
