The atmosphere was warm, I sat at the bar as I didn’t have a reservation. We ordered these 2 dishes they were full of flavor, fresh and light not heavy as Ragu can be. The sausage fennel was also delicious and light not heavy. I would order this again. Everything here looks amazing, nice presentations.
Group of 7 foodies who travel a lot (not the artists). Amazing food. Tastes that were eclectically magical. Service was incredible. Great vibe. Scallops were my favorite, but all outstanding! Presentation was awesome. They even texted me their playlist. Thank you!!!
Came in for bar seating on a weekday and was seated immediately! The tartare seemed Mexican-influenced with its al pastor flare - though the texture of the blue corn tostada was interesting, the actual tartare was phenomenal. The mushrooms were incredible and the perfect texture, with bold and balanced flavors. Don't forget to grab their housemade bread and butter, this was the best butter I've ever had! To go, I got the kale cesar salad with dressing on the side, which kept nicely! All in all a great dinner!

I can't believe I haven't reviewed Selden in detail before. This is my favorite restaurant and it's not even close. I've been to fancy Michelin star places in Chicago and Vegas... I always compare them to Selden and Selden usually comes out on top, at a better price. Food is always great. Familiar dishes, but there's usually an inventive twist which makes it exciting. The menu changes often with the season so there's always something new to try. In my recent visit, we had the Potato Pierogi. This is something I've seen on the menu before but never ordered because in my mind pierogis are boring. I should have known, Selden takes it too another level. Fried AND pickled onions, horshradish cream, apple reduction — this isn't your grandma's pierogi with sour cream and apple sauce. Service is very attentive and professional, even to rude customers (which I have been before; sorry guys). Shoutout to the manager with face tats, the tall guy, and the woman with the glasses and the tied up hair! You can't go wrong at Selden. Pasta is top-notch (sweet corn is my favorite), pork (country rib or porkchop) is always perfectly cooked and a great deal, oysters are yummy (Selden taught me to like oysters), steak is amazing. Note: I think the steaks are cooked about 130 medium rare where other places will take it to 135. For a ribeye, I prefer medium from Selden Standard, but I would usually order it medium rare at another place.
I’d read & heard great things about Selden Standard and holy moly everything not only lived up to but comfortably exceeded my expectations. This was almost certainly a top 5 meal for my. Katie was my server and she was awesome - super helpful and patient with my questions, and gave great recommendations. This was a solo meal for me and I had three dishes (the beet salad, roasted mushrooms, and walleye) plus dessert (Pavolva) and was comfortably full; I’m sure the bread is delicious but I think skipping it was the right call for me to save room. Every dish I had was genuinely outstanding and full of flavor, so it’s tough to pick a favorite but if I had to choose I’d probably say the mushrooms - quite probably the best mushrooms I’ve ever had. I just had a beer but the cocktails & wine selections look great and I’ll consider those whenever I return. I really can’t recommend Selden Standard highly enough!
