While this was not our first time at the museum, it was our first time taking a tour. We did the 6:30 tour on Wednesday with Sam, the up and coming expert. She was amazing! She was showing us the American Icons. I never really understood how to look at art. I always enjoyed it, but I learned new ways to appreciate it. Thanks Sam. After the tour, decent John, did a personal mini tour for us. This was the best experience we've ever had there. Take the tours!!!
We are very grateful to the Phoenix Art Museum for generously hosting our group recently. The Arizona Chapter of NCA held a meeting in the new Alden restaurant, which is a beautiful, inspiring, modern American upscale place right in the museum. The museum arranged a 45‑minute guided tour of the new wing with a docent, which made the evening feel special and tailored to our organization. The docents (especially Sherry Koopot, master docent) were knowledgeable, engaging, and helped us appreciate the artwork in a way that left us wanting to visit again for more. Thanks to the Phoenix Art Museum team and the docent staff for welcoming us. We look forward to returning and recommending Phoenix Art Museum to our guests and colleagues.

The Phoenix Art Museum is a beautiful place filled with art, culture, and history. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our visit and found ourselves truly immersed in the experience. One of the highlights for me was discovering an ancient Islamic piece from the Qing dynasty. It was fascinating and meaningful to see such a unique connection to history. The fashion and dress exhibits were absolutely stunning, with so much detail and artistry on display. Every section offered something special, but my favorite piece was Flowers by Joseph Stella. It was truly breathtaking and left a lasting impression on me. This museum offers such a rich and diverse collection that there is something for everyone. It is truly a must-visit place while you are in Phoenix, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to enjoy art, beauty, and culture in a thoughtfully curated space.
Always an amazing experience! Come on the days with discounts or just get a year pass to skip the school tours. Makes for a relaxing and surprisingly romantic cheap date idea. Art lovers and air conditioned seekers! This is for you!
I love art museums/galleries. My experience here was underwhelming because there were galleries closed for renovation that house a significant part of the collection. That is not anomalous. However, PAM has ample display space and much of what is displayed is much less densely displayed than other museums of this size. Management surely knew of the renovations well in advance and likely many works were removed to protect them. And while I know a temporary reinstallation elsewhere is burdensome, it should’ve been undertaken.
