My friend and I ate here while staying at the Kimpton Hotel Palomar Phoenix, Blue Hound is on the second floor. We realized it's better to sit at the bar to get the happy hour deals and access to the bar bites menu. We started with dirty martinis, I subbed Ketel One in place of the gin, and it was delicious! For dessert I had the espresso martini with Belvedere, yum! We shared the beet salad, shrimp and grits, and collard greens. The shrimp was cooked perfectly. Everything was very tasty and well seasoned. The did bring out everything at once so stagger your ordering if that is important to you. We went back for breakfast and I had the the egg and sausage skillet. I had the chorizo on the side for my friend, as I do not eat sausage. they were very accommodating! I am excited to take my husband here next time we are in town.
Highlights: Chicken sausage: Juicy savory and tasty. Pancakes: Golden brown perfections. Love the mixture of blue berries and strawberries. Lows: Service was okay. Some people had to wait to order food and for their drinks not great when was more empty than usual. Avocado Toast was alright. Missing some toppings like water cress and cherry tomatoes and whole grain bread. Fun: Met someone sweet and had a great conversation. We exchanged food for thoughts about the menu options.

The atmosphere is excellent modern, warm, and inviting, with a great vibe that makes you feel like you’re somewhere effortlessly stylish. The space is well designed, and the setting alone is worth a visit. However, the breakfast menu felt a bit limited. There were only a few options available, which made it difficult to find something that really stood out for me. While the food I tried was decent and thoughtfully prepared, the narrow selection kept the overall experience from feeling more special. Overall, Blue Hound Kitchen is a great spot with a lovely ambiance, but the limited breakfast offerings prevent it from being a top-tier breakfast destination.
Clean, classy restaurant with friendly staff and open, clean kitchen. Came here before a baseball game in place of a neighboring place due to the wait and did not disappoint. We got the brunch menu - burger, sausage hash, and 2 children’s pancake plates. All was fresh and delicious. We will definitely be back if in the area. Highly recommend.
This was a great restaurant in downtown Phoenix. I went here before a Heart concert at the nearby FootPrint Center. We were somewhat pressed for time, so we just got some appetizers to share. We got fried calamari rings, bacon wrapped dates, and steak sliders. Everything tasted great and we had plenty to eat for a pre-gig snacking. The decor is top notch and the place is quite decadent & upscale. When I have more time, I would love to return and explore the menu a bit more. I *love* that they have an actual blue hound sculpture - so fitting & iconic!
