Went in on SUNDAY because I needed help extracting a few sheared bolts. Guy at the counter said it'd probably be about 80 bucks come back on THURSDAY. On FRIDAY a different mechanic called and said he wanted $260 and that it'd take 2.5 hrs and that his time wasn't free. I said I obviously don't want to pay that much and asked if he could just cut off the back end nuts and put on new ones to save time, he said yeah. I said alright, just fix them in a way that’s quick if you can I just want to make sure the threads are all safe. He left all 3 bolt shafts in I wanted removed and mounted my skid plate with 3 HW store bolts, one of which had smashed threads, over torqued them, and called that fixed. 4runner skid plate bolts are are problematic because they need to be removed for oil changes and such, but for all I know they got this damaged and rusted out because of my past visits here.

Excellent service and very honest and trustworthy guys. I will always take my jeep to them and they consistently get my car fixed up fast. I can’t recommend James and the whole team at Star and Northwest Auto enough.
Absolutely amazing and HONEST mechanic! I drive an older car with a ton of mileage and from out of state, they did a full diagnostic test and were very straightforward about potential issues. Will definitely keep coming back and so happy to have found a local mechanic to take care of my car
These guys have been taking great care of my 2003 Honda CR-V for over a decade. I'll just give you some facts. When I bought my car it had 138,000 miles on it. Now, I just went over 362,000 and it is riding smoother than when I bought it, thanks to all their great repairs. There was a time when my muffler was going bad, making lots of noise. I took it to a muffler repair shop and was told the whole exhaust system needed replacement and quoted a price of over $1200. I took it to Star/NW and Don said: "Why don't you bring it in on Wednesday and we'll see what our welder can do." I dropped it off on Wednesday morning and it was ready for me to pick up by lunchtime. $92 for a weld patch job on the exhaust system. Don also said, "Now this might last a month or it might last a year, I can't be sure how long." That was in 2019 and it's so quiet that it's sometimes hard to tell the car is even running. These guys are the best.
