Edgewater Park, part of the Cleveland Metroparks Lakefront Reservation, has been a recreational staple since the city purchased the land in 1894. It quickly became a popular destination, reflecting the "City Beautiful" movement of the time. While facing environmental challenges in the mid-20th century, a major revitalization, culminating in Cleveland Metroparks assuming operation in 2013, has restored its prominence. The park's main feature is its 9,000 feet of shoreline and the vibrant Edgewater Beach, complete with a fishing pier, boat ramps, picnic areas, and the iconic "Cleveland" Script Sign for photos. The modern Edgewater Beach House provides concessions and a bar with lake views. The nature view is characterized by the expansive horizon of Lake Erie and the striking juxtaposition of water and urbanity. From the upper park level, visitors get a panoramic view of the downtown Cleveland skyline, especially stunning during sunset over the lake. The prevailing feeling at Edgewater Park is one of lively, yet peaceful, urban escape. It buzzes with a youthful energy during summer events like "Edgewater LIVE," while still offering a sense of calm and connection to nature, providing a necessary, fresh lake breeze refuge minutes from the city center.
Beautiful park to walk, bike, or just relax and watch the sunset. Plenty of open spaces to enjoy and even a beach area to swim or play in the sand. Parking is free and there are restrooms available.

Edgewater Park is a large park that has a beach, pier, shelter houses, restrooms, playground and plenty of paved walking and biking paths. It is very well maintained and has great views of Lake Erie and the Cleveland Skyline.
Really nice park. The multi-use trails are wonderful. We rode our bikes around them and enjoyed the evening. The playground is very nice.
Edgewater is a great place to relax, swim, watch the sun go down... it is just so peaceful and beautiful. I recommend visiting. Don't have your water in a liquor bottle stripped of its labels (definitely not with its labels) unless you are okay with police interaction. Alcohol is not allowed and it is enforced.
