A French fusion brunch restaurant near LACMA, a Michelin-starred establishment. The building, constructed in 1929, was once Charlie Chaplin's studio. It was packed on Saturday noon, with queues stretching dozens of meters, so I had to get takeout to eat at the museum. Kimchi Fried Rice: Unsurprisingly one of the most popular dishes. Even as takeout, it was still incredibly flavorful. The rice was dry and fluffy, each grain distinct, perfectly absorbing the sweet, sour, and slightly spicy flavors of the kimchi; the beef short ribs were tender and juicy, with a rich, fatty aroma. The perfectly runny soft-boiled egg was a definite plus. It somewhat shattered my stereotype about Korean fried rice. Short Rib Burrito: Calling this tortilla soaked in sauce a "burrito" is quite creative… avocado, soft-boiled egg, cheese, and black beans—a typical Mexican recipe; the sauce was tangy and spicy, refreshing and stimulating, creating a good balance with the rich, rounded flavors of the ingredients. For Cantonese like me, it was a bit too spicy. Basque Cheesecake: Absolutely delicious...the best Basque cheesecake I've ever had! The cake was delicate and smooth, with a different texture in every bite, from the molten center to the firmer edges, and the transitions were very natural; the cheese was incredibly rich and creamy, almost like eating milk powder.
Everything here was good! You get in line and order and then they give you a cup with a number on it and then they bring You your order. I tried the corn soup and it was as expected like a cornbread in soup form. I also tried the mushroom toast and I was surprised on how loaded it was, I think you could easily share this with another person the Portion was insane. The other item I tried was the Filipino adobo rice and it had an egg, Fresno Chili’s, and pork. The adobe rice was so flavorful and I was blown away with how tasty everything combined together. It Came with sriracha sauce which gave it a spicy kick. The atmosphere was also giving Off an authentic French vibe. They also have valet parking.

Yeah I dont even know how to start this review. The food is INCREDIBLY AMAZING! I first ordered the cinnamon brioche but I still felt a little hungry. So I ordered their kimchi fried rice, Steak Frites, calamansi pie or smth like that. Then their ice breve latte, and a danish croissant. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Totally worth the wait. inside is bery aesthetic, service is beyond great, the people are very careful. I would definitely go here for breakfast every day of my life if I could.
République is one of the best brunch restaurants in Los Angeles. The food, pastries, and drinks were all delicious, and the atmosphere made the celebration even more special. It can get very busy, so be sure to plan ahead and expect a line. It’s well worth the wait!
While visiting Los Angeles, I had heard about this popular restaurant located in the mid-Wilshire area serving a variety of French inspired dishes and garnering high praises from visitors. I ordered the escargot, dover sole, salmon, prawns, fries and risotto. Although, some dishes were good the majority were disappointing and totally missed the mark. The Salmon was lukewarm and was sent back. The Prawns were without question the biggest disappointment. By far these were the smallest prawns I've ever had anywhere and for the price one would've truly expected more. Overall, the meal was good but not great. The service was poor and lacked structure, creating a chaotic and rushed atmosphere. Throughout my entire dining experience and other than the times of me personally calling over my server, he was inattentive, lacked personality and never made me feel welcomed. Although, it appeared the staff worked as a team it never seemed cohesive and what one might expect from an establishment of this caliber. The restaurant was crowded but I did see several staffers seemingly with little to do, which is why the lack of table service surprised me. Kudos, to the manager who did walk over and apologized for the salmon and provided me with a $50.00 gift card towards a future visit. This was very thoughtful and appreciated.
