I try to use local, small businesses when possible rather than large chains. Asked to have a flat tire repaired and reinstalled. Receptionist said "They're gonna send you to Tire Discounters. We don't have availability for that." I realize it's a small job, probably not much profit in it but small jobs lead to positive word of mouth which leads to large jobs. Off to the large chain to give them my money.
I was traveling from Indiana to Maryland to see my son and his family for Christmas. Car trouble! I found this place online and hoped for the best. I GOT THE BEST! I needed an alternator. No appointment, only a prayer. He squeezed me right in, fixed me up, and I was back on the road a lot sooner than anticipated. He clearly could have sent me on down the road, but didn't! I highly recommend.

Delighted to find out about this place. I am fairly new to Dayton and was referred by a customer who has been a long time customer of Pauls Garage. They described my issues and gave me advice on how maintain the back door of my suv. Also did an oil change as requested. Will be back when needed. Family owned business and honest!
If I could give zero stars I would. I called to find out why my alternator was draining my battery. Told them I replaced the battery and alternator and my battery was still being drained. I needed to no why it was doing that. They told me to bring it in and they would find out what was going on. I had to pay to have them tell me what was wrong my vehicle. Still don't know why my battery keeps being drained. When they called me to let me know what was going on still had nothing to do with why my battery keeps draining. So paid for them to diagnose it and still have no answers. What they told me was wrong with my vehicle has nothing to do with why I had them looking at it to begin with. So I am still sitting here without a vehicle and a diagnosis that had nothing to do with what is going on with my vehicle. I am very disappointed. I chose this place because they are part of the veterans. I am always down to support any veterans. I will never bring another vehicle to this place ever again. I definitely won't be suggesting this place to any friends or family. Very disappointed. A very unhappy customer for paying a high price for a diagnosis that still doesn't tell me what is going on.
“I went to this shop for help diagnosing a vacuum leak, making it clear I needed only essential repairs due to financial struggles. They told me I needed a lower intake manifold replacement, which would have been a very expensive and unnecessary repair. After getting a second opinion, the actual issue was shredded upper intake, PVC elbows and a faulty mass airflow sensor — much cheaper and problems that, in my opinion, were not difficult to properly diagnose. When I questioned the high-cost repair, they suggested it might have been an honest mistake, but after learning the real issue, I feel it was more about upselling. I would not trust or recommend this shop.”
