Yardbird in downtown Chicago delivers a truly special dining experience from the moment you walk in. The atmosphere is beautifully designed, blending Southern charm with a modern, elegant feel that immediately sets the tone for the evening. The menu is packed with mouthwatering options, making it difficult to choose because everything sounds so good. Each dish arrives perfectly portioned and full of flavor, making it well worth the price. The service is also top-notch, with a friendly and attentive staff that enhances the entire experience. The only regret is not saving room for dessert. If you are in Chicago and looking for Southern comfort food with a refined twist, this place is absolutely worth a visit.
I finally made it to Yardbird, and it did not disappoint!! Service was attentive, from filling our water glasses to checking in during our meal. From my Tangerine Sky drink to the chicken & waffles I thought about all day, dinner was fantastic. The waffle was crispy around the edges, and supported a fluffy waffle “body”. The syrup was a perfect compliment without being too sugary. The chicken was also fried perfectly and came to the table hot & seasoned. What really impressed me was the portion size—it was a lot of food! I took 2 pieces of chicken home for dinner the next day. My friend enjoyed her meal as well. I’m sure I’ll be back!

Our server, Lenni, was absolutely amazing! She was friendly, attentive, and checked up on us at just the right times. The food was so delicious—it really took me back to being in the South. I especially loved the Fried Green Tomatoes BLT; such a great twist on classic Southern comfort food, just like what I had when I was in Atlanta. Deviled eggs was fire!!! I also ordered the Holy Trinity, and it honestly made me feel like I was in New Orleans. Everything from the flavors to the atmosphere was fantastic. All around, it was a great experience!
I went here Monday night with my girls and let me tell you....the food was FANTASTIC! I had the gluten friendly fried chicken and I couldn't even tell it was gluten free. This was hands down the best fried chicken I've ever had from a restaurant chain. The seasoning was perfect (was not salty but perfeclty seasoned), the fry on the chicken was chef's kiss! My fried chicken was tender and juicy on the inside and perfectly succulent/crispy on the outside. The portions were very generous as I received a leg, thigh, breast, and wing. While the mashed potatoes fell flat (lacked flavor/texture) my brussel sprouts were EXCELLENT! I could seriously eat a whole plate of those by itself! The ambience, decor, and servers were all a 10/10 and I enjoyed my experience. The desserts were HUGE and delicious as well, I wish I would've saved more room, but me and my girlfriends just shared them around the table. If you haven't visited, please give them a try. I live in Miami (but am from Chicago) and was dining here, so I hope the Yardbird in Miami lives up to the Chicago experience!
Had the opportunity to try their Vegas location which very good and im glad i tried their Chicago location. We had an early dinner over a weekend and it was pretty empty. I was surprised with how large this location was in comparison to Vegas. The service and food were great! The waitress gave us great recommendations which helped our decision making.
