Really interesting history of the cistern was provided by the guides who escorted us through the tour. The lights and choreographed music were pretty cool. It's a really amazing place that's relatively cheap to see. Highly recommended.
We went a few weeks ago for the Union is Creation sound bath with a light show on a weeknight and we loved it! We purchased the tickets online in advance so it was easy to walk up and check in. We recommend arriving extra early if you haven't been there before, in order to account for if you have trouble parking and for a smooth check-in experience. We had brought our yoga mats in order to sit and lay down while listening and observing. The acoustics are wonderful and it's a very unique, very Houston experience. We would highly recommend it!

It was a very interesting and informative tour. It was hot outside but just right on the inside. Hard to imagine that the founder father's thought that was going to be enough water for Houston.. My friend and I where in Houston for a vacation so we had time to kill and we saw this on You Tube listed as a thing to do. I recommend it as well. There isn't a lot of parking but if you drive past the place you should see a large parking lot on your right. Just make a right turn and you're there
Interesting experience! Music set to light show. We thought there was no water until the end when we finally saw a reflection. Spooky! Have Celine Dion been sing in that environment. It would be a happening! Show was a bit short and kept waiting for a sensational moment but did not happen.
Rosemarie was a FABULOUS tour guide! Her ability to walk backwards, inform us the history of the cistern and sing an original song in 2 languages was incredible!
