Enjoyed our stay here. Hotel was in a perfect location with great views. Rooms were nice but would’ve liked some more upgrades potentially. Most staff were nice, including the doormen and the porters though some front desk staff could’ve been kinder. There was a point when our room wasn’t turned over when we got back to it and the front desk quickly had it fixed up by housekeeping. The pool was very nice too. I would stay here again.
Pretty good hotel with amazing views in an incredible location. I stayed in the 1 King Corner Suite with a wraparound balcony for four nights at 25,000 Choice points/night transferred 1:2 from Citi (plus a $26 urban fee) per night and found it well worth the cost. The room was relatively spacious for downtown Chicago and mostly renovated; however, there were certainly some surfaces that need a little work. The yellow wood floors and baseboards were scuffed and worn, as was some furniture. The bathroom was large and mostly well-renovated, but the grout was faded yellow and poorly done. But the views from the large (yet unfurnished) balcony were breathtaking! I also found the bed to be very comfortable. However, the main differentiator I found at this hotel was the customer service. When we requested a mini-fridge, one was brought up nearly instantly for free. When the keycard scanner was having issues, security personnel escorted us to our room with no wait. At checkout, they waived the urban fee unprompted “as a thank you for your loyalty”. And every hotel employee I encountered throughout my stay was very friendly and kind, something I rarely find in hotels. In summary, I left rather satisfied with my experience.

One of the best luxury hotels you can stay at in downtown Chicago! Customer service was A1. The staff was very accommodating. The views from the balcony were amazing and the amenities of the hotel cannot be beat. 10 out of 10 highly recommend definitely staying again! Very close to millennium Park to see the bean the Riverwalk and more
I had to come to Chicago for a medical appointment which itself is not always pleasant especially when you have a serious illness. However the joy I had in my experience in this hotel superseded anything detrimental. I am a creature of habit and I come to Chicago every two months clinic. I decided to do something different. I must confess I didn't even know this hotel was here until recently although I knew the building was didn't realize part of this building is the radius. Please note if you want to be on a high floor the hotel is the first 18 floors of the hotel and believe me that is most sufficient. Do not be deterred if you're not assigned the 30th floor or whatever. In these photos you will see this is their own private little park that you can access from the third floor. Beautifully landscaped. And then it overlooks another park below where many people seem to walk their dogs. One block South and you have millennium park. Exiting the hotel to your right 200 ft is the river with a great bridges to the other side of the city. The location of this hotel is spectacular. I want to thank Jason, Gigi, Anna and Daniel, Change, for making my stay extraordinarily wonderful. This is not a critique but an observational reality, if you have a room next to the elevator such as I did upon check-in go ahead and request another option. They did not bat an eye or hesitate to do this for me. There is something about these elevators that make an extraordinary amount of noise as you stand waiting for it to arrive. It cranks. Lol. I would think that could easily be corrected with everything we have advanced in today's modern technology. Again this is just an observation. The rooms are immaculately clean and no detail is unlooked. I congratulate every member of the hotel team who is a part of this success and I wish you great continued future achievement. If I can get these pictures to attach to this review which is proving difficult at the moment I would like you to know that every single one of them was taken from the third floor observational area next to the pool.A funny note is that there were about 15 of us different individuals enjoying the pool area Tuesday morning. At around 12:15 it started to rain. Only on all of us. We were all looking up around the rest of the city with brilliant sunshine and not a cloud in the sky but we were getting wet. We were all in amazement and then suddenly I looked up and I said, “hey everybody there are power washers above the building.” We all died laughing.
I live in Chicago and work downtown, so when we decided to take a staycation over July 4, this hotel was on our short list. The architecture is lovely! The hotel is bad. The thing that really locked it in for is were the pools: an indoor pool and an outdoor pool, so if the weather was bad we'd be covered. First, there were no towels in the towel distribution area. I told my wife and kids to hit the pool, and I walked around a bit trying to find more towels. In the end I gave up and went swimming, but I happened to see them restocking. I grabbed four towels for us, and the guy restocking the towels started yelling at me, saying I should only take as many towels as I needed. I told him we were a family of four and I was. I never thought I'd need to explain myself to the hotel towel pool guys. It indeed rained, so we went to check out the inside pool. One of the lights that fit into the side of the pool was floating around. It somehow came free of its housing, but its wire was still plugged in and kept it from going too far. Seemed unsafe. We called the front desk, and to their credit a person came down and worked on it pretty fast. The next day, we went to go swimming, and there were no towels again. About thirty minutes in, we were able to get some. Fortunately, the hotel towel pool guy wasn't there and I didn't need to argue about it. On the night of the Fourth, at about 6:30, I went to order room service for us. The website said we could order until 9:45 and gave you the option to order online, but I wanted to call (my son wanted his cheese on the side). I tried calling for about thirty minutes from the hotel phone, and it just kept ringing. I assume they weren't open, or were slammed, but I couldn't count on it for my kids dinner and had to figure something else out. The rooms were fine. Fair warning, the bathroom uses those sliding doors that don't really shut and give you much privacy. Location is great, and the rooms were fine. The interactions with staff and the business with the pool were awful. Just absurd for a hotel that we dropped well over a grand on for a couple nights. Don't stay here! There are SO many other hotels around, and they will do better by you!
