Dining at Girl & the Goat was an amazing experience for my family on Christmas! The star of the evening was the crispy pork shank, served with a stunning blend of fresh accompaniments. The meat was fall-off-the-bone tender and wrapped in an irresistibly crunchy layer of toasted shallots and garlic crumbs, offering deep umami flavor with every bite. The house-made sauces — one creamy, likely tahini-based, and the other tangy and nutty — added balance and sophistication. Alongside, a medley of pickled vegetables, shredded carrots, and herb garnishes provided brightness and crunch, refreshing the palate beautifully. Every component felt fresh and high-quality, showcasing thoughtful layering of taste and presentation. Every dishes reflected inventive cooking and exceptional ingredient quality. Each bite felt like a refined yet approachable culinary experience — unmistakably crafted with passion and precision.
Came in from out of town and had made reservations prior to arriving. Girl and the Goat was fantastic! There were two of us and it's small plate style so we ordered 5 different dishes to share. It was a lot of food so choose wisely. The brioche was a great starter and the relish to top it with was amazing. Next came the chickpea fritters... excellent and far better than I had anticipated. Then came the green beans...wow!!! I don't want grean beans any other way. Do yourself a favor and get them. Next came the pork belly which was top notch, imo. Ended the night with the pork shank which was incredibly good. Glazed and crusted... I'm not sure how they do this but I accept it as perfection. So good. The atmosphere was fun. Maybe a little loud for some but that's the fun vibe that Girl and the Goat has so embrace it. Johnathan, our server and all the other hands that assisted in clearing the table before bringing the next dish were all amazing. Great establishment that has been around Chicago for awhile and for a reason. Just go. You won't regret it. Thank you to GATG for a great experience!

I wasn't sure if the restaurant was actually good or just internet hype, but I was pleasantly surprised! The menu has just a few sharing plates, but they are extremely well-crafted with incredible flavors. It’s a total flavor explosion! It's worth noting that the dishes we ordered were quite spicy and heavily seasoned—which wasn't mentioned on the menu—but they were delicious! The pistachio and chocolate dessert was absolutely perfect. Getting a reservation is a struggle, but it's totally worth it lol.The waiter was super efficient but a man of few words, which was totally fine.
When I found out I was coming to Chicago for the week, the first thing I did was book a reservation for The Girl and the Goat! It did not disappoint! It was probably one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time! The restaurant had great atmosphere! The Goat Fashioned was a fantastic drink. I ended up getting four plates, the Chickpea Fritters, Hamachi Poke, Roasted Pig Face, and the Goat Empanadas. They were all amazing and very unique, I would have a hard time picking a favorite. This is a place you must visit if you are in Chicago area, but make sure you make your reservations ahead of time!
When we arrived at Girl & the Goat, we were initially seated at a table that was extremely cramped, despite there being plenty of open tables available. We were moved to a different table, which we appreciated, but it was still kind of ridiculous that we were placed there in the first place, that table honestly shouldn’t exist. The food, however, was absolutely phenomenal. We ordered the goat empanadas, curry fried pork belly, confit goat belly, and the roasted pig face. Every dish was savory, sweet, and incredibly well balanced. Four plates for two people was the perfect amount of food, and we left completely satisfied. The drinks were also excellent. It was a great birthday dinner
