The gardens are beautiful lots of different colored flowers. It was fun feeding the butterflies. The house is gorgeous. All the different styles of woodwork throughout the house. The murals painted on the walls are beautifully done. It is lots of walking and steps. Outside some of the paths have stones that are uneven. We had a nice time. Thank you I hope you enjoy as much as we did.
Another stunning trip to Stan Hywett, this time for Mother’s Day. I was pleasantly surprised how calm the grounds were. I went between 3-6pm and there was plenty of parking and it didn’t feel crowded. Stan Hywett, the Seiberling’s mansion estate, is one of the most peaceful and serene places in the area- you won’t want to miss it. The beautifully intentional acreage is well kept by the staff - don’t miss walking through the Japanese garden behind the house or the beautiful birch tree walkway that leads from the mansion and points out to the parks. It is lined with beautifully fragrant lily of the valley in the spring and won’t disappoint. The Childrens garden is a wonderful experience for those with children. And the self-guided tour is incredible. Make sure to ask the volunteer staff to turn on the organ in the music hall, it really makes the place alive!

Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens are very well maintained. If you are visiting the Akron area, this attraction would be a great option for an activity regardless of the season. I would recommend visiting during the warmer months to see the extensive gardens in bloom but there is also a large greenhouse with a variety of plants and flowers to see.
Absolutely amazing experience! We only got to view half of the grounds this visit, but we will be back to cover the rest! My grandfather used to bring me here when I was younger and now I had the chance to bring my own family. Everything is well kept up, and everyone was extremely kind and helpful!
This place has beautiful peaceful gardens to walk. We enjoyed the variety of the gardens. That being said there are 2 different options to look at the house guided tour and self guided tour. The self guided tour turned out to be a very stressful unfun experience. But it is a beautiful house so if you have a few extra bucks I would suggest springing for a guided tour as I am sure you might have a much better experience.
