Alexis (Alex) was absolutely amazing, to say the least. Hudson House has been on my “must try” list for a few years, and we finally chose it to celebrate my 35th birthday with a group of 12 friends and family. They accommodated us perfectly, the table was spacious and comfortable for everyone. The ambiance was a 10/10, and the food matched it in every way. What truly stood out, though, was the exceptional service. Huge shoutout to Alexis and the manager on duty (4/11) for going above and beyond. My wife has a shrimp allergy, and both the front-of-house and back-of-house teams took it very seriously. They came out to explain the precautions they would take and ensured her meal was completely safe. Thanks to their care, she was even able to enjoy the chicken parmesan, which normally would’ve been off-limits due to shared cooking oil with shrimp. We’ll definitely be back, making this a regular spot for lunches with clients and family. Highly recommend!
One of my colleagues recommended Hudson House to me, and honestly, I had never even heard of it before. It feels like one of those places that doesn’t get talked about enough, but the food is absolutely incredible. The first time we came here, we ordered the french chicken, and it completely blew us away. That’s exactly why my wife and I came back. This time, we both ordered the french chicken again, which comes with their signature thin fries. We upgraded the fries to the truffle fries, and I would highly recommend everyone do the same. The truffle fries were absolutely amazing and took an already great meal to another level. The french chicken was just as good as I remembered, perfectly seasoned with Cajun spices, juicy on the inside, and packed with flavor which pairs perfectly with lemon beurre blanc. It’s easily one of the best french chicken dishes I’ve had. We also ordered a side of mac and cheese, and that was another standout. It was rich, creamy, and absolutely delicious. Definitely worth adding to your meal. Since Hudson House is known for its martinis, we decided to give them a try as well. They were good, but to be honest, I didn’t find them to be anything extraordinary. They tasted like a solid, classic martini, but they weren’t the highlight of the meal for me. Overall, another fantastic experience. If you’re coming here for the food, don’t skip the fried chicken, upgrade to the truffle fries, and definitely add the mac and cheese. Those three alone are enough to make me keep coming back.

Honestly a pretty disappointing experience. Came for a birthday celebration and even though we had a reservation we were still made to wait 20+ minutes for a table. The food was overall not good. Chips were stale, avocado dip was bland/old, Salmon was not fresh. The only good thing about the meal was the steak but not by a huge margin. Compared to other Hudson House locations this was a bit of a letdown

Checked out the new Hudson House in West Village and it was truly incredible! We had reservations, but apparently made them for the wrong location, but they were very accommodating and got us in. The vibe was very energetic, but not overly fancy, and the staff was super attentive and friendly. We went during happy hour, so it was a bit loud, but was glad to see a business in this area thriving. We had the spicy tuna roll, steak frites and the French chicken for our entrées.. both came with skinny fries and arugula salad. Probably the best meal I’ve had at a restaurant in a very long time. We will definitely be back and love the convenient location. We live right across the street!
