We absolutely love the Nashville Zoo! It’s always beautifully maintained, well organized, and perfect for all ages. The animal habitats are impressive, the walking paths are enjoyable, and the overall experience is consistently excellent. Zoolumination is truly magical ✨ The lantern displays are stunning, creative, and so thoughtfully done. Walking through the zoo at night surrounded by glowing animals, lights, and music is such a unique and memorable experience. Everything feels festive, immersive, and very well planned. Brew at the Zoo is also super fun 🍻 It’s such a great adults-only event with a relaxed, lively vibe, great beer selections, and the chance to enjoy the zoo in a totally different way. It’s the perfect mix of entertainment, atmosphere, and something a little different to do in Nashville. Staff members are friendly and helpful, food and drink options are convenient, and it never feels chaotic despite how popular the events are. This is one of our favorite places in Nashville with something for everyone year-round. Highly recommend the zoo itself, Zoolumination, and Brew at the Zoo — all fantastic experiences ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
The only reason for not giving 5 stars was the food. It’s a large zoo with plenty to do for everyone including the obvious wide array of animals. There is a giant kids playground, a very high zip line ride to thrill the adults, and a cool dinosaur exhibit with many robotic life sized dinosaurs along the trail. Highly recommend bringing your own sandwiches or lunch food for the kids. For $12 it was the smallest Mac n Cheese we have ever seen.

We had a wonderful Valentine’s Day date at the zoo today! We went in the morning and the weather was perfect, cool and sunny. We stayed about 4 hours and walked between 4-5 miles since we doubled back through a couple sections. It was wasn’t too busy and it was easy to find parking when we got there at 10am. Unfortunately some of the animals weren’t out due to construction, like the giraffes, but that can’t be helped. My favorite area was Lorikeet Landing where you can go in and feed the birds. The tiger was also very active which was cool to watch. We grabbed lunch at Snake Bites using mobile app. It looked like prices online were cheaper than at the counter. It was sort of confusing though… I ordered a hot dog with chips but apparently they didn’t have any chips. My partner also selected the pulled chicken option on the bbq sandwich which they also didn’t have. I’m not sure what was going on there, but the food was good at least. A note for fellow scrapbookers, the zoo seems to have gone paperless. Although there’s no paper maps and brochures to collect, the app is super helpful and I highly recommend using it. Anyway, the zoo is a great place to spend a day at any age!
I visited the Nashville Zoo in late October 2024 with my husband during our honeymoon. I had my psychiatric and medical response service dog with me. I was a bit surprised by the entry process regarding my service dog. At other zoos I’ve visited, staff have been very well educated on service animals and the correct ADA-compliant approach. At Nashville Zoo, we were asked to wait in the rain and complete a lengthy questionnaire before being allowed to enter. This felt unusual and uncomfortable compared to my experiences elsewhere. Once we were finally able to get inside, we explored the zoo and genuinely enjoyed it. While the zoo is on the smaller side, it’s incredibly cute and thoughtfully laid out. My favorite animals we saw were the blue macaws—they were absolutely beautiful and a highlight of our visit. Overall, while the service dog entry process was frustrating, the zoo itself was charming and enjoyable once we were able to explore.
I went to the Zoolumination it was truly beautiful. Everything was stunning the lights, the colors, and all the decorations were amazing. The whole experience felt magical and was perfect for taking photos. It was very well organized, relaxing, and enjoyable from beginning to end. I definitely recommend it for families, couples, or friends. I would absolutely go again. (DO NOT BUY PARKING ONLINE! THE WEBSITE HAS A $10 FOR PARKING, BUT PARKING IS FREE.
