I called and was surprised to learn Hope plumbing took over Frye electric as I work for a local plumbing competitor. But I'm not an electrician so I gave them a chance, why not. We have used Frye twice before Hope Plumbing took it over and we're very satisfied. I set up an appointment, they called before coming, showed up on time. Everything was normal, they showed up, started working, found the problem. A loose wire in the attic, easy fix, 1 wire nut. They go out to the truck to write the invoice, bring it back in have my wife sign (in 3 spots) and pay. Done. When I get home a see the bill for right at 500 dollars, I was upset. Who charges that much for less than an hour of work? The lady on the phone tried to say something about that's what the estimate was. Problem is, they never showed us an estimate. They just did the work and then showed us the bill like they allways have. I talked to the lady to try to resolve this and was told she would dig into it and call me back. She never did. I'll never recommend Hope or Frye electric to anyone. They are ripping people off at that price. Very unacceptable. EDIT: I see you replied and said give you a call. We tried that, we chatted, you said you'd look into it (because your guys never gave me a quote, just did the work first) and you never returned my call after that.
We have used Frye Electric several times and have never been disappointed. We always request Chris because of his professionalism and knowledge. He’s the best of the best!! Most recently, Chris and Brayden P. replaced all of our can lights in our home (29) and put in a ceiling fan rough-in for our loft. Top notch service!!

We recently had over $5,000 worth of electrical work completed over two days by Frye Electric. The technicians were friendly, professional, and thorough throughout the process. During their visit, one of the techs noticed that our water heater had been plugged into the wrong voltage for the past six years (without any issues). They corrected the voltage, which caused the water heater to shut off. After troubleshooting, the tech plugged it back into the original voltage, got it running again, and wrapped up the job. Less than 48 hours later, our water heater began leaking. Before calling another company, we reached out to Frye to discuss the situation and see if they could offer any assistance toward the unexpected costs. Unfortunately, we were told there was nothing they could do, as they considered it a coincidence rather than anything related to the work performed. While we never expected Frye to replace the water heater for free (they’re not plumbers) or fully reimburse us, we did expect some level of effort to help address the situation. Instead, we were left with a $2,600 bill for a new water heater and installation. It’s disappointing because the service experience with the techs themselves was excellent, and we genuinely enjoyed working with them. However, the company’s lack of customer service and accountability after the fact has left us with a very different impression. After such a great initial experience, the outcome was frustrating and disheartening.
True to form as they represent on their commercials. Seamless accuracy from estimate to service in two days. I’ve worked as a contractor but unable to do the work myself now. The work was efficient and attention to detail emaculent. Exactly as I envisioned doing it myself. Price was half what I expected. This was a dedicated circuit for my new sauna. I have heart failure. Sauna is my life force. Thanks so much .
The following is a letter I sent to Mr. Frye who apparently does not have an e-mail address (unbelievably), so I forwarded it to one of his employees: I regret I am disappointed in how the job that was done, handled, the communication and no real attempt to rectify the situation. I know I have said some of this already, but I am going to say it again: 1. I asked a friend of mine for a referral. He said he had been using Frye Electric, but lately has become disappointed and has moved on. My mother suggested Frye Electric and even though I heard what my friend said, I decided to give your company a call. There are always at least two sides to a story, so I took a chance. 2. I asked Greg multiple times about any mess. I trusted what Greg was telling me therefore I did not read the contract in full. I suppose that is what I get for trusting the representative of your company of 50 years (which you mentioned several times). Not only did I have a bill from Frye Electric, I now have an unexpected non-budgeted bill to fix what was done. 3. Your crew treated the job as if it was a new build, not an occupied residence 4. The crew could have made an extra effort to dress wires instead of leaving some out. See the attached photo. 5. I invited your crew to borrow my tools if needed. I expect them to put them back where they got them and not just leave them lying around. Once again, I trusted representatives of your company. 6. We had to wait days, literally days for the job to be completed because apparently another job was more important than getting this one done. Not because of anything other than the crew did not have everything they needed to get it done. 7. As a low-voltage cabling person, I find it amazing your crew could not take a little time to put the circuit breakers in a logical/sensible order. That is like if I were to run cable and number ports 1, 13, 28, 3, 16, 2. No way I would ever get away with that. Recently, I did a job at Avis Rental Car and an electrician was there. I asked him about this and he told me there is no way he would be able to just put circuit breakers in a random order. 8. I truly think you came over here really to get payment and not really try to smooth things over. Giving me your phone number, a business card, pen and lights did not smooth anything over. You never really apologized. Because of this experience, I went with another company to get our generator installed.
