Great. It is located right beside the river. Overall, I think it is a great addition to the city of Portland.
From the day the city turns on Salmon Street Springs Fountain until the day they turn it off at the end of the season, this fountain is an entertaining and fun spot for everyone. Kids run around in it giggling and playing, parents make their kids giggle by going in themselves too. The fountain cycles through configurations so you can always wait then jump in. I like to start by walking around the circle until I build my nerve, but not the kids, they just go for it. A month ago a yellow lab discovered the joy, he was rolling around in it to the delight of his owner. The water blasts you pretty good so wear ear plugs and goggles if you prefer. Just watching this fountain is a wonderful way to spend some time. You even get rainbows when the sun angle is right, especially with the fine mist cycle. It's a fantastic place for selfies by yourself or with your kids or partner; experiment with selfies on either side and at dawn or late afternoon. When summer's at its peak this is the Place to Be. You're next to Kerr Bicycles so you can finish your ride with selfies and a splash. You're also at the boarding point for the Portland Spirit- do a Brunch, then chill after your cruise by watching everyone around the fountain, or stroll the Hawthorne Bridge-Steel Bridge esplanade loop, then come back here and jump in. I'm looking forward to next season!

They didn't have the fountain going in full swing today, but there was a nice cooling off spot in the middle with a bunch of spray. There are benches lined up underneath the trees where they are shaded and you can keep cool. While this could be an even better spot; I'm giving it four ⭐⭐⭐⭐ because of the cool relaxing vibe, the many shaded benches and the constant water attraction.
Stopped by for the Portland Art Museum Light show. Great walkthrough. Check it out next year!
Overall it's a great place for the kids, a picnic as you can sit down in the grass or underneath the overhang which has concrete seats or you can walk along the whole waterfront. The pictures provided is what was going on this past weekend.
