This is a really neat historical park. There are historical buildings and artifacts as well as a museum. They are even in the process of adding on. There's a café if you forget your lunch or just want to eat inside an old train. There's also a carousel, and a train ride. There's a 360° viewing tower, but you'll need to be able to climb the 120 steps to the top. I even saw an eagle's nest with the eagle sitting in with her babies. All of this for only $12! That's a steal these days. See my pictures for some examples of things you'll see.
We took the kids and it was a Blast! So much has changed over the years. I love they kept parts of past such as the NCR pool tower, a building from Sugar Camp, the big clock that got moved. There was so much to see, so much for the kids. We went during the train expo and it was amazing! Well worth a nice summer day with the kids.

Kids loved the little train rides when they are available. It's free to the public when they do. The bigger train costs money but it was still a good time. It's a good exercise and time waster if you have nothing else to do. Definitely has a lot of info on the history of Dayton and it's contributions.
Real let down on the shopping mall front in Dayton I have been advised to hit Columbus as it’s the place. So dropped Judy at Miami Valley Hospital this morning and ended up at the Historical Park. I was very pleasantly surprised by the array of attractions for the very young to the very old. The history of the buildings and the information provided by the various guides about the attractions and people was a bonus. I wandered around and let myself into the various buildings & was very surprised by the exhibits lots to see and enjoy. Vintage Cars Wright Flyer Industrial Engines Transportation Historical Recreation Business I walked up the tower to enjoy the wind swept view wasted a good couple of hours then my love rang to pick her up. #CarillonHistoricalPark #wrightbrothers #bycyles #firstflight #industrialmachines #transportation #trains #tramstation #daytonohio #oldmanontour
This place was amazing! It far exceeded my expectations. This is such an awesome way to learn and experience the history of Dayton. There is so much to see and do there. We spent about 3hrs there and still didn't see everything. We all are excited for another trip there!
