Where to begin on our stay here. We checked in on 7/13 and out on 7/15. The first room that we were in had NO conditioner in the shower, one washcloth and the air was a constant 75 degrees no matter what we did to adjust it. The next morning I went down to the front desk to complain and was told that maintenance would fix the problem with the air. I also requested that my room be serviced as well. After touring the area we came back in the afternoon to discover that our room had not been cleaned and when I asked the young lady in housekeeping she said we were not even on the list. AND the room was still 75 degrees. I went down to the front desk to complain and we were moved to another room on the 3rd floor. While the room was definitely cooler there was again only one washcloth for the room and absolutely NO soap in the shower. The pillowcases were torn on our bed. The carpet all over the hotel was torn which is a tripping hazard and was in much need of a vacuum. The ice machine on the 5th floor as well as the 3rd floor was not in working order. The ice machine on the 1st floor did in fact work and there was a 5 gallon bucket of trash sitting right beside it that had not been emptied the entire time we were there. The toilet seat in the second room was not secured as well. our 1st room number was 528 and our 2nd room number was 328. I will definitely be sharing all of this on the website for your hotel so other travelers are not surprised by our findings.
Check in process was easy and front desk staff were nice. The location is not ideal, in a rough part of town, and lots of trash in parking lot and surrounding areas. The hallways, commons areas, and rooms were disgusting. There were old socks, hangers, room cards, and other mysterious items behind the tv stand and under the end tables. The pool was cloudy and paint peeling all over the sides. Very outdated. Would not recommend or stay again.

It is the worst double tree I've been to. Lobby is impeccable, hotel is beautiful but the service is horrible. Room were not made every day, coffee never replenished, room was not really clean, towel we're not changed when on the floor they where just left there and there was no washcloth we had to ask every day at the lobby to get them. Air conditioning was smelling old wet dog and lot of noise and nothing was done. I've been to at least 30 doubletree and this is the worst service I ever got
Very very clean, comfy beds and updated furnishings. A few discrepancies on their website. The free breakfast is not free. It's wrapped up in a package or is $25 a head. The website lists two pools. There's only one, occupancy of 25 and a good sized hot tub. Unfortunately it was fully over capacity when we wanted to use it. My 3 year old was upset. The website also says it has room service. This is not true. The market was bare of milk products or bottled water. It's was all very select sodas, and a few snacks. All and all, my priorities were cleanliness and quiet, and a pool. and I got most of that. The website is misleading, and my kids weren't impressed.
Shower grout dirty, light switch in bathroom broken so it would not turn off. Shower had such low water pressure and restricted flow, I almost had to book another night waiting to rinse off. "Fresh towel" smelled like old popcorn, washcloth had a red stain on it. Hvac unit extremely noisy. Small cube alarm clock we did'n't notice {haven't seen many in other hotels in a while} went off at 6am. Door #1, the door closest to elevators, had a loose lock and was hard to open. Public corridors smelled like weed. Location convenient to The Henry Ford, but confusing to access located right next to a cloverleaf.
