Losing my daughter due to medical malpractice was the most devastating experience of my life, and navigating the legal process during that time felt overwhelming. From the very beginning, this firm treated me with compassion, respect, and genuine care. They took the time to listen, explain every step clearly, and made sure I never felt alone in the process. What stood out most was how they balanced professionalism with empathy—they understood that this case wasn’t just legal, it was deeply personal. Their dedication, attention to detail, and commitment to seeking justice gave me a sense of support during an incredibly difficult time. I am truly grateful for the way they handled my case and for the kindness they showed me throughout. I would highly recommend this office to anyone who needs not only skilled legal representation, but also a team that truly cares about their clients. Thank you Brian McKeen, Andy Kay and Lee Ann Allen. You guys are truly amazing and wonderful people. I could have never done this with any one else.
Leon at McKeen & Associates was fantastic to work with. Super responsive, professional, and easy to reach whenever I had questions. Highly recommend.

Do NOT Use McKeen & Associates – They Dragged My Case Out for Almost 2 Years I suffered a catastrophic failure of a cervical artificial disc replacement (ProDisc-C at C5-C6) in September 2024. The implant migrated, lodged near my esophagus, and required emergency revision surgery with ENT assistance just two months later. This left me with constant extreme pain, permanent disability, undiagnosed ankylosing spondylitis and osteopenia, and caused me to lose my job. I have three young children and have been unable to work since. I contacted McKeen & Associates because of their reputation in Michigan medical malpractice cases. They accepted my case and I immediately sent them an extremely thorough file: both operative reports, ENT addendum, intraoperative fluoroscopy images showing initial anterior malposition, pre-revision X-rays showing complete expulsion of the disc, contradictory office notes, recorded phone calls where my severe pain and “pop” were dismissed the day after surgery, detailed personal timelines, termination documentation, and more. They dragged the review process out for almost 2 years. During that entire time, I had to email them over 12 times just to get basic updates because they almost never reached out to me on their own. Their communication was horrible. After months and months of waiting, their expert finally reviewed everything and concluded there was no negligence — calling the migration a “known complication” that was handled appropriately. They then took even more time before ultimately deciding to drop my case. This prolonged delay and lack of communication was incredibly damaging. While they sat on my file for nearly two years with almost no contact, my pain continued, my financial situation deteriorated, and the statute of limitations clock kept running. I was left emotionally and financially drained, scrambling to find another firm while still suffering daily. If you have a serious medical malpractice case — especially involving spine surgery complications — I strongly recommend against using McKeen & Associates. In my experience, they take on cases, drag out the review process for an unreasonably long time with very poor communication, and then drop them, leaving clients in a much worse position. I hope this review helps others avoid the same frustrating and stressful experience.
Great firm, I never thought I would need a med mal lawyer and when i did everyone said to go to McKeen because they are the best. So, I did and could not be happier. They got right on it and started building a case. I'm very impressed with their professionalism and overall experience.
The McKeen & Associate Law Firm is committed to being honest to their clients every step of the way. Attorney Andy esq. remained diligent through all aspects of my malpractice case and provided all necessary information with honesty and integrity. The McKeen paralegal Lee Ann Allen was nothing but kind, respectful, and informative every step of way during this case. I recommend the McKeen & Associate Law Firm for your legal concerns.
