We are so happy we found Joseph Ketner Construction for work we needed on our old Portland home. We had a few sections of cedar shingles that needed replaced, as well as damage along the eaves and soffits which needed carpentry repairs. We also needed to repaint both the house and detached garage. The team was great to work with and addressed our questions right away. We are very happy with the quality of the work and love the compliments from our neighbors about how nice the exterior looks now. Joe and team did an outstanding job with a complete overhaul on my home's exterior. My house needed new siding in the eaves and some repainting and repairs on the porch and decking. Replacing ALL the vinyl siding was out of my budget and unnecessary - the vinyl was faded, but structurally sound. Other contractors only wanted to do a tiny piece of the work (replacing siding in the eaves) or ALL of it (redo the whole house in Hardie). As a result, I was looking at needing to supervise three different contractors (one for the eaves, one for the decking, and one for paint), and worse, it felt like the result was going to be very piecemeal and uncoordinated. Thankfully I stumbled across Joseph Ketner Co. JKC was the only contractor who was a) willing to handle all three of the jobs I just listed themselves, but even better, b) had the suggestion to PAINT rather than replace the vinyl. Who knew this was even possible?! And, they were able to offer design and color selection services and renders to give me a lot of control and confidence over the result I was going to get. I was pretty picky in the design process, and JKC was patient and responsive. As a result, I DID get the complete refresh of my home's exterior that I'd always dreamed of, but at a far lower price than if I had had to fully replace the vinyl siding. Now that the project is complete, I can say that the level of craftsmanship is excellent, the house truly looks better than I could have even hoped for, and I am thrilled with the result. At the end of the day, JKC was not the cheapest quote I received for any piece of the project. But, they weren't THAT much higher, either. And, for my project, the convenience of having everything managed in one place, in a professional and timely manner, not to mention the value of having a contractor willing to work creatively with me on my slightly unusual project - made it all worthwhile.
